Whos been more impressive Paul Williams or Juan Manuel lopez?
Two young stars both recently putting a beat down on older, but well recognized name fighters.
I know this might bring a war of arguments. So keep it clean and defend yourselves at all time.
Peace
Both are amazing. Paul Williams has thrown a 1000 punches in fights and J.Lopez did it last time in just nine rounds. They're almost equally as good, Juanma has a small edge over Paul Williams IMO.
Yeah, Juanma looks like he will be a great fighter(against other great fighters) but he's young and coming up slow like he's supposed to. At age 25, Paul fought the most feared fighter and beat him convincingly. I can't wait to see Juanma against the top dogs too, he's gonna be a real good fighter Imo.
After the Penalosa fight, I actually had the words "pound for pound" flash through my mind.
He was deemed as a slick boxing talent on his way up, because he is so technically solid in his approach.
Then at the championship level, he showed unbelievable power.
Against Penalosa, he showed he can also be a volume puncher, while keeping that technical advantage. Regardless of how old an opponent is, you still have to have the conditioning and will to throw a zillion punches like he did. The deadly accuracy when throwing all of those against a guy who had his gloves up constantly was very impressive to me too.
I can't wait to see how this guy's career turns out.
well iam a juanma lopez fan and juanma is sturggling to get people to fight him first of all so pual william has some very good wins under his belt, but when juanma get more people to fight him he will be right there. love juanma but pual williams has fought the tuffer fighter one reason people are will to fight him on the other hand juanma it has been tuff for him to get people that want to fight him.. I want el indio vs pual williams one more time you up for it paul williams ????
I'm a Juanma fan but i rate Williams wins recently over Juanma's.
His performance againt Winky was very impressive.
Winky may of had the long layoff and is past his best but his timing still seemed to be there and he was doing good in a few rounds. It was simply Williams style being all wrong for Wright. He clearly won using his superior reach and workrate.
His knockout over Quintana in the rematch was also impressive. Quintana proved he was tough against Cotto by taking his best shots for 5 rounds. Williams laid him out in 1.
Juanma's display of power was impressive against De leon but Leon is a very limited fighter.
His performance against Penalosa was impressive but Penalosa has never been a good fighter.
I feel Juanma has more potential, is the better fighter overall and will have the better career.
Williams has fought the better comp...........
And is the better fighter......
Junama hasne fought his "Margarito fight yet.....you know the number 1 ranked guy.
I don't know how you can say that Williams is the better fighter...
I mean, other than lack of insanely good competition, what flaws have you seen with Lopez? In his fights that I've seen, he's looked pretty close to perfect.
Williams has shown some defensive lapses... They aren't a big deal, because he makes up for them with his workrate and chin, but...
Idk, I just don't know how someone can be so sure fire certain that someone is better than a guy who hasn't shown any flaws yet.
lopez...williams is all hype
his last 3 fights
1-andy kolle-lol
2-40 year old verno phillips
3-37 year old coming off of a 2 year layoff winky
Lopez's last 3 fights:
Penalosa - Old and not that great to begin with.
Medina - Straight ****ing bum with a bullshit record.
Figueroa - Who? He was like 30-6 and had lost against some good fighters, and some not so good fighters.
This sounds weird coming from a huge Lopez fan, but... I have to admit, Williams has been blowing me away with his last few fights... ESPECIALLY the Phillips fight.
Also, a win over Margarito is probably more impressive than a win over Daniel Ponce de Leon, which is a matchup of their best wins.
