I still had that Casa ahead before he got stopped. Being ahead only means you had even less of a reason to want to get stopped. Winning rounds in a fight that ends with a stoppage against you is like doing a bunch of incredible dribbling moves while driving to the basket, only to get stuffed like there's no tomorrow. Point being, if you 'miss' (or get KO'd) then, so what?

I know Marquez is the underdog, but you would think the way people are speaking about a potential Mayweather vs Pacquaio fight, that Floyd has already beaten him. There is no doubt about it, Marquez will be the best boxer Mayweather has ever faced. He is a great counter-puncher, and has good power. There is no question that he is a very live opponent, considering Mayweather hasn't fought for two years. Don't count him out yet. Imo JMM has a very good shot at 140, any higher he will lose by split decision.

Mayweather's style is Anti-JMM + there isn't anything JMM could do better then Floyd. P4P, this would still be a mismatch. I'm not thinking about JMM vs Mayweather, I'm way past that I'm thinking about Floyd vs Pacquaio/ Cotto your a total moron.

I am backing JMM to beat floyd.Marquez is about as tough an opponent as anyone could pick,but picking someone at the top of his game as a tune up is a very strange decision indeed.The layoff wont have done floyd any good and I can see him not applying himself in training as he should.Marquez,on the other hand has many reasons to be motivated for this fight and I dont believe it is just about money for him as it is for floyd. I was thinking the same thing....In all honesty a lot of people (Bob Arum) are acting like Cotto has already beat Clottey. Which to me is an even bigger mistake...I think Clottey is a much more of a live dog then Marquez. Anyway...I don't think Migs or May are taking the matches lightly just some fans and promoters. Cotto has the harder fight in Clottey than Floyd does with JMM, a Cotto win is no sure thing tho i do see him coming out on top. Floyd wont take Marquez lightly as he cant just win he needs to look GREAT if he is to get the ~1 spot back before fighting Pac

JMM isn't a defensive master, far from that. He is what you call a master counter puncher, nothing more co sign. GREAT counter puncher, Top class Combos and a Huge heart with decent defence but a defensive master!? No chance look at the punch stats from his recent fights

Mayweather can beat Marquez but there are a lot of factors that can also give Marquez a chance. 1) The layoff 2) The weight 3) Their styles Both of them are solid defensive masters so this makes the fight interesting. If Mayweather comes out like he never took some time off and if he is able to adjust to the weight, he'd likely beat Marquez but you can never count out Marquez. You can't count out Marquez, but he can still be a 9/1 underdog. No joke. I can't see any advantages he has over Mayweather.

Especially as Marquez is a step up in opponent for Mayweather. Hatton, De La Hoya, and Castillo, were never on Marquez's level. Well, I wouldn't say that. Skillwise, they may not have been on Marquez' levels but they had assets in other areas that made them very good fighters.

Dude, JLC would have knocked out JMM, so I don't even know why your tryin to set aside JMM's level from JLC, be real now P4P, Marquez is and has always been better than Jose Luis Castillo. Marquez isn't at his natural weight. Castillo PERHAPS won a close one with Casamayor. Marquez, old, not in his natural weight KO'd a never stopped, slightly faded Casa. Marquez > Castillo.

Nah i dont see it being overly competitive, Floyd will stop him. I Love Marquez and he is great but he will be alot smaller slower and weaker than PBF. Marquez wont handle the weight as well as Manny did and even tho he is coming off argueably his best win i think he is on the slide he gets hit way more these days and can be hurt, theres only so many times u can go to the well after all plus he like 35 right? I think between Floyds speed and the added weight JMM will look really slow in there
