As a hatton fan i feel disgusted and let down because hatton boxed like an amateur. After all the talk of how improved he was and a 12 week training camp with a fantastic trainer, he goes charging in and used no boxing intelligence what so ever. 25,000 brits travelled in the recession and that is how hatton re-pays us! what is the point in learning new things if your not going to use them? My congratulations go to the pacman, and id advise hatton to hang them up right now. There are top line boxers out there who have more than 2 losses, but hatton has had 3 major fights, won 1 of them against kostya and got hammered in the other 2. definatly the end of the road and a sad way to bow out.
Listen fella Hattons always boxed like that as far as im concerned, in Mayweather and Pac he was in with the calibur of opponent whereby he couldnt get away with the deficiencies in his style, as said in a previous post how this guy made near to 50,000,000 is incredible

The real problem were those 40+ fights where hatton got no real valuable experience whatsoever. You can't fight bums and mandatories your whole career and expect to be able to beat prime p4p fighters, who won't fade in the later rounds, no way. The best he could have done was a Calzaghe like career where he'd hold on a little longer in europe taking mandatories and still with his egg intact and with a 45-0 record and the support of everyone and their mothers, finally travel to the US to take someone like Floyd Mayweather, 32 years of age, undefeated but coming out of a 2 year layoff. Ricky could have probably won that fight fighting the same way he did in 07, which he would having not suffered any of the mental and physical wear and tear of fighting tough fights and retired then with a perfect 46-0 record. I'm sure he'd be considered an ATG, we are talking about the same Ricky Hatton who got outclassed for 2 rounds vs Pacquiao, bare to mind, an ATG! Comes to show how a few details can redefine a fighter completely, and his legacy.
I give the credit to the pac on what he did to Hatton. I also feel the pain whoever mortgage their house on hatton, so we really can't blame how some people are distgusted about him.
Damn, if people really took there advise about Remortaging there homes that would suck.

I rooted for Ricky to win, giving him the benefit of the doubt, but you're right. He tried to bully his way in with no sense of intelligence whatsoever.
He has no one to blame but himself.
I have to be fair to Hatton, he lost to this generations best fighters. Mayweather and Pacquiao.
I have to give him props for trying on both occassions, he just lacked the ability to pick it off. You can't turn a cow into a tiger and in a tricky situation people will always do what comes natural to them.
Being in the actual ring and training are two different animals. So I'm not going to hold it against him. In a stressful situation as I said earlier you usually do what's natural to you. It's too late in his career to make boxing ability come naturally to him.
Nobody should feel that sorry for Hatton, he's made £50,000,000 from a good but not exceptional talent. That glamour puss wife of his won't be crying when a £12m($18m) cheque hits her floor.
Bewhahahahahah
green k for that:boxing:

Why did you call her a glamour puss wife? She seems very down to earth.

I dont why people are so suprised, in the beggining i gave hatton a 50/50 chance if he moved to his left jabbed and closed down from an angle, which apparently is what Mayweather SR asked him to do before the fight.
But then......
Weeks before the fight I did a thread saying hatton's gonna steam in and abandon the gameplan, getting himself knockout.
Why?
Because he said he was gonna steam in during the pre fight interviews. Hatton's not clever like floyd, floyd says before a fight like " Im gonna attack him from the get go" he aint never gonna do that shit, we know it. Hatton is alot more honest.
When he started talking about being the bigger man at 140 and getting pac on the backfoot, i knew he was gonna get himself hurt because roach knew he was gonna do that and spent months preparing pacquiao for that.
In the press conferences I didnt see him say anything about lateral movement, he just talked about steaming in with a jab and head movement, thinking that would be enough, but that shit doesnt work for him when he cant see the punches coming.
It was way to retarded in the first place indeed, to assume a size difference will be a big advantage. The thing with mayweather is.. he never overlooks no opponent. Obviously i dont think hatton did training wise, but assuming a size advantage will be enough is very idiotic, abandoning technique for wild punches was so stupid.
Even when mayweather jr troughout his carreer faced tomato cans, he never lost his composure technique wise, and always stayed focused. Maybe a little vs corley but he was owning the dude.

there's no shame in losing to pac
its not that he lost to pac, its just that he didnt give himself a chance because he just lunged and didnt show anything that floyd snr taught him.
Give props to Pac, but don't shit on Hatton. Some of his own fans are talkin down on him like he threw the fight or some shit.
im not shitting on hatton, im just pissed off at him for not using the things floyd snr taught him.

True, but if it makes you feel any better both of those loses came at the hands of the best P4P fighters at the time. And he wasn't doing that bad vs Mayweather, but Pacman is a much devastating puncher.
