I went back and watched the fight again.
At the end after Manny wins, some dude with an HBO shirt on runs upto him while he's being held up in the air by one of his seconds and points towards the corner in a somewhat urgent manner.
At first it looks like a member of team Pac celebrating aggressively in a "you da man!" kind thing but then...
Manny sees the guy pointing at the corner, kinda goes "Oh shit!" and briskly jumps down into the corner.
The camera cuts to a brisk view of Haton on his back, then goes back to Pacquiao and lo and behold.......he's on his knees and starts praying/crying/whatever in the corner with his face in his gloves......................lol wat?
Here's a vid for you, skip to about 5:30 and watch the celebrations.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnqGoGia0Cs
I couldn't help feeling the whole thing was kinda.........I don't know..........scripted?
Since when are celebration sequences/prayer/tears of joy pre determined by HBO lol?
It's pretty lame dont you think? I think 24/7 is gay enough at times, but that's a bit too much play acting for my liking.
I wonder what else is pre determined before fights take place?
It's all about TV, baby!
It's probably for a commeraritive DVD or an HBO special and let me tell you, as a documentary producer, we need our money shots and Manny kneeling at the corner in silent prayer is a money shot. This is what personifies Manny, a religious fighter who owes everything he has ever achieved to his creator. To miss this shot is unforgivable. The director would have been in deep shit.
As much as a documentary is about reality, producers or directors often control or manipulate a situation to get the shots they want, as long as what they ask the protoganist to do is not out of character. Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, like Manny's unbelievable KO of Ricky, you forget the things that made you who you are and it is up to the tv show guys to remind you.
I'm sure Manny didn't need to be reminded, but the producer didn't want to take the chance.
And cut.....
Did you also notice that the philapino national anthem HBO played backing music due to the fact that hattons fans would of been booing.. and the the British and American anthems were accapella.
Yeah that was clearly racism and illuminati shit goin on there.

You got ridiculed out of ESB for posting the exact thread 30mins ago. Watch it get 15 pages plus on here. Lmao!
Hardly.
It's just that people on this board and ESB think they one word, one liners are good enough to be counted as actual discussion and end up thinking they're "owning", you.
Either way, the only reason I even went over there is because boxingscene is ****ing about.
That is why HBO hired those cameramen, they know what shots to take. And they have done that to Pacquiao even awhile back. From what i remember is the 2nd fight with Morales.
Well considering the people from Setanta sport were saying
MANNY SHOULD NOT BE CELEBRATING!
I guess we can't please everyone. You get mad if they make him pray so they can the shot out of the way, and the British Announcers get angry if Manny Celebrates.
I don't care if you like the fact that it was scripted. I understand why it was done. It don't piss me off. When Floyd prays, I don't it is sincere either lol but Manny is always talking about God. Floyd on the other hand is always talking about Pussy this and biatch that and phuk here and so on. Sorry you are not happy with this and I hope you don't hurt yourself over it because it is not that important, you said yourself you know how things work so why are you making such a big deal about it?
What the commentators said pretty much has NOTHING to do with what we're talking about.
Believe it or not, you can still not celebrate without HBO telling you to not celebrate. You know like, acting naturally without your actions being planned beforehand. etc. If Manny didn't celebrate, at least it would be down to his own decision and not because some dude in an HBO shirt came upto him and said "dont celebrate" lol.
"Hey God hold on a second, I'm gonna praise you in a bit, but first I need to let HBO show a shot of the guy I just punched in the face till he lost consciousness so they can get the awesomest angle of me praying to you. Oh btw Jesus thanks for the ability to get paid to potentially kill people, I know this is what you want for me being a Catholic and all. KO your neighbour as your would like to be punched or KO'd right? Okay guys are we ready now? Okay God, they got the shot lined up I can praise you now!"
I mean come the **** on man lol.
I see that you couldn't care less, but I love boxing and my ability to spot BS when I see it too much to just say "oh well thats how it is".
It has to be done with order or HBO does not get the footage that they need later. I talked to Arum's lawyer about 4 years ago and he said HBO is thier biggest cash cow because they sell the rights to the footage to HBO.
HBO is paying huge ammounts of money for the rights to this footage so you think there isn't some kind of order or script these guys go by? If you have never been on a set, then you wont understand how important this all is. I went to school for this when I was in the 6th grade lol and it just opened my eyes about just how things are done behind the scenes.
Manny would have eventually got on his knees anyways but that is the shot that was called from the booth and the camera man is just following orders. Yes, people have to be told where to stand and where to be when a shot is being taken. DUH!
So you're saying that all the times we've seen fighters running around the ring, jumping up on the turnbuckle and shooting their hands in the air with glee was a carefully scripted and planned thing and the fighters were monitoring their positions the whole time in order to get the best shot?
I can understand the fighter running upto the cameras of his own free will and expressing his own emotion.
However, watching a fighter being DIRECTED to a specific spot to do a specific action to celebrate his victory is GAY.
For what it's worth I HAVE been on a TV set. A few years ago I was on a kind of reality show that spanned about a year that took some high school kids who never sang before to china to sing in a Choir competition blah blah etc (the shame lol).
I know about what goes on behind the scenes. I pretty much dont even watch TV anymore now that I know that most of the stuf I see, even in "reality" shows and even documentarys is just a load of BS.
Now, something so (supposedly) random as the sport of boxing where anyting can happen at any time, it's disappointing to see even something so simple as watching a fighter celebrate and being able to see his raw emotion is negated and regulated by a TV company.
Boxing has been WWE since de la Hoya lost against Mayweather.
Yeah it's just ****ing gay man.
It takes away from the experience when you literally see a guy telling a guy to go pray so he can get some good tv footage for his boss in a time where we're sposed to be seeing raw emotion from the fighter.
I guess some here are too close to Pacs nuts to see it.
Another thing they do, besides the phony emotional breakdown, is bring the fighters kids into the ring after the fight. I think that it's complete BS to bring a child to a pro boxing match. Remember when Cotto's child was bawling his eyes out after seeing his dad get knocked out? He can thank HBO for that memory.
TV is scripted?
ALERT THE PRESS!
Why are you surprised? Do you also find it odd that camera men follow them during their ring entrance. :pat:
Please please tell me why the hell they needed a guy to go Manny to kneel in the corner with his face in his hands?
Am I the ONLY one who thinks that's bullshit?
I think there's too much outside influence in the ring ALREADY, without everything down to how the fighter even celebrates already pre determined.
I just think it sucks ass.
You're looking too far into this shit.
Attempts to discredit greatness are at an all time high.
LMAO.
Pacquiaos celebration was scripted. LMFAO.
Wow, you guys are amazing.
So I take it you watched the video?
What do you call it when a man in an HBO shirt comes upto you and literally TELLS YOU to go and pray/thank god/be in awe of the occasion?
Natural free flowing expression of raw human emotion right?
lol yeah okay.
It's not how you make it out to be.
But I hear what you are saying.
This is a team of people paid to get us the best shots of things and they can't let things get away like amatuers, these camera man have orders and I am sure they have gone over things like what does Manny normally do after a fight. So the man calling the shots from the booth has a script he has to go by so they dont miss any shots. He will be telling people to get in position to get these shots. Shots that will later be used in some other time they need it. A guy is constantly barking orders to the men who are viewing the cameras and are running the switch boards and they are also communicating with the men who have the cameras. HBO are pros. But I am sure no one would have had to remind Manny to kneel and talk to himself. He would have done it sooner or later but that is the shot that the team of men wanted to get out of the way. But yes, you did make a valid point but it's not as you make it seem as if Manny is fake.
HBO pays big money for the footage they are buying from Arum so they have to get thier moneys worth for produciton later.
It really is how I'm saying it to be honest. Everything I said happens in the video. I respect Pac, I'm just saying this kind of scripted shit really is just a little too much fabrication for my liking.
Crying/Praying when someone with a headset on tells you to just doesn't seem right to me.
If he was going to do it anyway, I dont see the reason why they had to force it out of him?
LOL yea, I just rewatched the fight and noticed the HBO guy pointing at the corner lol..
But Manny would have done that anyways, HBO just wanted to capture it for the cameras at the right moment..
the video is down so it's hard to say
Ahh damn that's a ****ing bitch lol.
Ah well, I'm sure there's other vids of Pacs celebration that people can see, either downloaded, taped from tv or on youtube.
Here, 30 seconds into this video

i thought that was someone from pac's camp not an HBO person.
