Im watching the ESPN highlights and they ususally never really show anything significant after PPV fights but this time they showed one of the knock downs which I think was the 1st one since Pac just threw a right hook. The thing is though, it doesnt really look like it landed that clean if it landed at all. Was Hatton just already hurt and going down anyways or did the hook really catch him when you see the replay?
I also saw Pac catch Hatton with a straight left on those clips and the thing that stands out to me is that Hatton looked like alot of other Pac opponents that come out the gate at a slow pace. Its like they know Pac is fast, will fight fast, and will attack early, but they still think its a joke or something. Theyre way too casual to start the fights, you know. They have to be ready from the opening bell and be prepared for his speed or you are going to get overwhelmed. I use to want Floyd to go straight to Pac but then I started changing my mind and thinking that he might need a tuneup because Floyd may not be ready for that fast pace early on after the long lay off. Pac may catch him & drop him or just be too much early and take like the 1st 3 rounds before Floyd gets going.
The hard thing about Pac is that people arent ready for the fast start and he's a Southpaw. Just the Southpaw part alone usually takes guys awhile to figure out. The combination of the 2 just makes him overwhelm guys so early. I think unlike others, Floyd will be prepared from the jump if he fights him. If he just maintains early then I think he will pick him apart late. I think he will come out with the high guard like Winky and like he did against Zab after he figured him out because the shoulder roll doesnt really work against elite Southpaws. He'll come out behind the high guard and will walk Pac down which no one will expect
he's so damn fast that you didn't see his clean shots. me either, i have to watch the fight several times and slowmo the video just to see the right hook, the left straight that made hatton knockdown on the 1st round, and the solid powerful left hook that lands on hatton's jaw.
no, it's just that there are not that manny clean shots landed, go watch the david diaz fight and the oscar fight and you see more clean punches landed in the 1st 2 rounds of those fights than you do in the hatton fight unlike diaz and oscar ricky seems to avoid alot of the punches he just doesn't take a punch scar and diaz i guess
nothing seemed to land that clean by paquiao in this fight thats why this fight is kinda funny to watch, i remeber telling my girl i don't even see manny really landin punches but yet ricky seems hurt and as soon as i said that emmanuel steward says that he doesn't see to many punches bein landed then all of a sudden pacquiao knocks hatton out, it's crazy and i have watched the fight a couple of times

I watched the fight five times now and that second knock down was legit also. He took a number of shots before getting dropped with that "covered" shot. And Hatton didnt' get up right away. He stayed on his knee which tells you that he was hurt.
Correct, I watched the entire first round at 0.13 speed. After the first knockdown Pacquiao was landing big shots and Hatton's legs were getting wobbly, at the 13 second mark Pacquiao lands a right and left hook that sends Hatton falling towards him to grab him but Pacquiao leaps back and lands a left, misses with a right, and the second left just pushed the already tumbling Hatton down to the canvas.
Seriously, why is a flush punch needed?
Floyd hardly hits with big power and put him on his ass. Collazo nearly put him on his ass and had there been a rematch I'd have wagered major bank that Collazo would've won. Hell, he was nearly knocked down by Lazcano.
At least Paulie didn't almost do it I guess...

No the second knock down did not land on Hatton anything flush. Hatton was moving back and on his heels and was trying to regain his bearings and he was being chased down with the human buzzsaw coming in with his snake like strikes and he hit Hatton in the glove which Hatton had over his face so the shot just sort of landed on his glove but the momentum made him fall. I guess Hatton did not have his legs back because he just sort of fell as you say.
