Manny showed why he is the p4p number 1 fighter in the world....he destroyed ricky.....and no excuses.....manny was simply a better fighter bar non.....
that being said, as a loyal hatton fan as you all know, I'm still extremly proud of ricky, and all the joy he has brought to me as a boxing fan.....and i will always love him (no homo)....you guys can all give me shit for being so emotional about ricky, but i'm just speaking from the heart....no shame in losing to pacquiao.....manny is just a wonderful fighter.
45-2, with you only 2 defeats against probably the 2 best fighters of the decade is still arecord to be proud of.....
I hope manny continues to excite boxing fans around the world.....
but Thank You Ricky.....well thats my 2 cents....

fork over my points
I didn't get the game plan from Floyd SR. Trying to trade with Pac was foolish when he has such an advantage in hand speed. I guess Hatton's team didn't feel Pac would bring his power up but he did and that took away the little size advantage Ricky had. That said, even if Ricky fought a perfect fight I don't think he was beating Pac last night, the dude was just on.
Floyd is going to have his hands full if he fights Pac. I always thought Floyd would just outbox Pac but now I'm not so sure.
Why are you not sure?
Hatton is an excellent fighter, but he's a one dimensional brawler.
He doesn't know how to step backwards and move out of danger, and like Roach said, he doesn't seem to have the capability to adapt a different style.
Floyd can do it all, and when you have a fighter that can do what Floyd can, you have more options on how to approach your opponent. Floyd can throw off both Roach and Manny because he can adapt any style he pleases.
Floyd does it all, he can brawl, counter, box your ears off, ride his bicycle etc...
Floyd can definitely school Pac.

So, just for a laugh, where is Hatton on your P4P list now?
Respect to that dude!
Ricky is a hell of a guy!
He deserves so much respect and il give it to him,
i was very disappointed in him lastnight but i mean what can you do??
Id say there was so much going on in his head and there was such a weight on his shoulders it rattled him.

Respect to Manny, he's a legit JWW, a true P4P Champion and a classy individual! I have much respect for Pac not trash talking after winning in such a spectacular fashion. If only more fighters were so humble...
I was always nervous about Ricky attacking Pac early (I was hoping he would clinch and stay close until Pac slowed down some) on and walking into something stupid knowing the way Pac can hurt fighters, especially early before they can adjust to his speed and southpaw stance. Pac also seems to have even more power at 140 and will own the division if he stays there.
I'm still a huge Hatton fan, always will be and if he feels it's time to hang 'em up I will support that decision.

Manny deserves some props no doubt,
he came out looking brillant in great condition and ready for war!
Ricky made it easy for him though,
hatton was exposed lastnight and he proved he cant go to war with someone who will stand toe to toe, unlike floyd who picked him off.
I feel sorry for ricky,
i wanted him to win and he still deserves a hell of alot of respect for everything he has done for boxing and he was so brave lastnight that even tho it finished in the 2nd round i dont think anyone could of got up from that shot.
He was willing to go until he couldnt go any further and he did,
he deserves respect for that even if it was the second round.
There was no messing about
Agree with OP, no shame in losing to the very best.
Ricky hasn't looked to have the same enthusiasm and enjoyment since the Mayweather fight, that defeat rocked his jovial spirit I think, it feels like the time is right for him to retire.
my respect to ricky hatton fans... you guys are taking it in style!!
Brits are class. My brother was at the fight and he said the Hatton fans were nothing but class. Hatton deserves a ton of respect for being a great fighter and a better person.
You're one of the more sensible Hatton fans here JB, not unlike some who think that all they were saying was gospel truth, or like they've invented the time machine or something.
Ricky's got nothing to be ashamed of tonight. he fought his heart out, unfortunately, that was his undoing. He took the "I'm the bigger man" to heart and paid the price. Just like what Larry Merchant said, Pacman is like a fire that can't be put out...
thanks, and gopi i always said u were a cool poster, i said some things about manny, but it was just heat of the battle type stuff....i laways had mad respect for him, won a killer amount on him whe he retired oscar.
Ricky Hatton is the man. Sadly he couldn't make it a good fight, but I have so many other memories of him putting on great performances. It was hard seeing him destroyed like that last night. Not because he wouldn't ever get to realise his dream and become, in his eyes, p4p no 1, but because he got badly hurt. I felt sick when he got knocked out. I just hope he retires because he has nothing to prove whatsoever. He has been world champion for a long time, beat good fighters, and has been a great servant to boxing.
Even though Hatton was knocked out last night, once he had recovered, the crowd in the casino I was at started singing "there's only one Ricky Hatton". I think that says all you need to know. He is a man of the people, and he put it all on the line for his family, his friends, and his fans. A true champion if there ever was one, and a British hero.
Oh, and all credit to Manny Pacquaio, the true p4p no1.

You said you put 12 grand on Hatton to win, I think you lied... Unless your jack nicholson or a rich actor or athlete then 12 grands alot of money.
