Like, most I overrated Pac's abilities a bit because of the Delahoya victory. Since then I changed my mind based on these criteria's.
Technical Boxing Skills - Pacquiao lacks those to counter and outbox Ricky the way Floyd did. This will be a true pressure fighting opponent for Manny in long, long time. Can he fight backing up.
Strength - If Manny can't outbox him, that means he's gonna have to stand his ground and fight. Ricky is stronger, can Manny handle the hit and hold strategy.
Bodyshots - Manny when up against the ropes holds his hands up real high. Can he take the body shots that Ricky will blast him with? He once got knocked out by a body shot even though early in his career.
Punching power - Manny at 130/135 is known for being a big puncher. Can we truely say he carried that power over to 140? Is it as effective against a thicker framed Hatton? Hatton gets rocked by solid counter punches, not straight-in-yo-face flurries that he sees and gets ready for.
Hatton's improvement - I know it's hard to see but I believe Hatton is a bit more accurate then he used to be. Unstead of lunging in with his lead hand, he now throws the jab more.
All these criterias lead me to believe that Hatton will either Tko him late or win a decision. I know nothing is set in stone but i'm thinking Manny might even wear out and if not get tko'd make, barely make it the distance from the pressure and body attack Hatton will put on him.
I was banned for a month, nice to be back fellas. :boxing:
Hatton is not washed up. I already made my case for Hatton in my original post of this thread, so I won't repeat myself again. It's not what Hatton can or can't handle, it's what Pacquaio can or can't handle.
He is the one fighting a solid jr.welter for the first time. 2 fights ago he was at super-feather. The Delahoya win doesn't tell us anything.
Ultimately, where you go wrong is overrating Pacquiao's amateurish flurries and underrating Hatton.
Ultimately, this is what I see.
Pacquiao: Speed
Pacquiao: boxing ability
Pacquiao: Power
Pacquiao: Combination Punching
Hatton: Stamina
Hatton: Body Punching
I think Hatton will be walking in into too much Fire power from Pacquiao.
and ultimately at this level of fighting. You can not let fighters of Pacquiao caliber hit as many times as Pacquiao is going to Hatton and expect Hatton to somehow win.
Hatton gets hit too much and he lungs too much with allows him to get caught with senseless punches.
I have no doubt that Pacquaio will land up to 40-50 punches per round on Hatton.
and IMO I dont know how can Hatton will be able to withstand too many punches without getting cut up and hurt.
Of course Pacquiao is not Mayweather.
But Ricky Hatton is Damage goods.
and I promise you, you will see that tomorrow night.
Mayweather just didnt Knock Hatton out.
He beat Hatton up on the inside and outside and he **** with Hatton's Head.
Which imo left Hatton confidence to this day in pieces.
I will 3 general concerns about hatton.
1. How will he handle Pacquiao Speed and Combination Punching
2. Can Hatton Still Pull the trigger or will he be thinking too much because of the new fighting style he has just learn.
3. Can Ricky Stop himself from lunging in without a jab proceeding his punches, which imo is his downfall as a fighter.
Pacquiao is not Mayweather. He is not going to hit Hatton with One shot at a time and Grab. Pacquiao is going to Hit Hatton with 3 or 4 punches at a time and move and do it again. And that right there is why I believe Pacquiao will win on cuts or Late Stoppage

I kinda agree. I think Pac as of late has been overated and Hatton has been made out to be a journeyman. I would of changed my prediction to Hatton if it had not been for the fight against Lazcano. Hatton just looked horrible and the fight against Paulie didnt really answer any questions.
Pacquiao is not Mayweather. The only thing they got in common is their speed, nothing else.

Ricky's hands will be faster than Pacman expected and he won't handle the constant grappling as well as Mayweather did
but I have faith that Manny is a cut above Ricky and will punish him over the middle ground
Really to me hinges on if Manny can outbox and keep proper distance against Hatton. If Manny can do that for the better part of 12 rounds he will win and possibly stop Hatton (cuts or sweilling I say).
If he can not the fight is going to be very difficult for him, but he could still win but this is more of a 50/50 proposition.
I still favor Manny because he is the one with options in this fight, if Manny gets dragged into the mud it is anyones game.
Hatton is not winning.
People said the same thing Before the Mayweather Hatton fight.
and look what Happen.
I will admit Pacquiao looks nervous..but after round 2 Manny will beast on hatton.
too much speed.
and maybe too much power.
Pacquiao

changing your pick? well your post suggest otherwise
Yes my friend, changed my mind about who will win after some more observation.
But lets seperate who we think will win and who we want to win.
Pacquiao is in my Top 10 favorite fighter list and I will be rooting for him to win, I just don't think he will win, big difference. Lets hope he does, that way we can have a Mayweather-pacquaio extravaganza later this year.
I was just really glad when they both made weight... now the fight is definitely on and is near.
I can't weight! (Aha, you get it?) :lol1:
Seriously though I am looking forward too it...
First, welcome back to un-bannedment.
I'm rooting for Ricky on this one, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.
They both APPEAR to be in great shape.
If Ricky gets KTFback to an English pub in Manchester, I won't feel too bad because I see this as a pick'em fight right now.
Anything can happen.
I just hope the fight lives up to the hype so everyone can get their time and money's worth.
It ends at your first line " If Manny cant outbox Hatton "
he can !!!!
What's your evidence/faith in that he can outbox Ricky?
The two boxing clincs against a B-level Diaz and a zombie like Delahoya?
