I had a debate with a boy recently and he had the cheek to say and make himself look like a complete prick.....when i said to him, why is it ok for you to say P*ki but you expect no one to say nig*er....n he said "Because P*ki sint as bad" what a dick! And most people i know will say it without even thinking of it being racist....and for instance if any asian people are walking by and they are dressed as i would say "british" i will hear people i know say..."o they think they are cool" or something...as if they havent been raised in the same society as the rest of us......... P*ki is short for Pakistani so maybe that was his argument. It's not the words really it's how they are used.

People liked Naseem Hamed though, he was Asian. I think it is racial, lets face it muslims arnt the most liked people out there and since muslim isnt an english religion its like he isnt emglish, i cant get across what i want to say very well. I'm starting to think UK is just as racist as the US. We have boxers here that represent not only the US, but also their country of origin. You'll see Mexican-American boxers sporting trunks with the Mexican flag colors etc.. and he is accepted as much as any other American athlete. I don't think he was overhyped, I think he was a top player. But if you go to the continent they'll tell you the hype didn't match the substance which is probably true, his popularity would lead you to think he was the best player in the world but he was never quite that good. Sometimes that hype worked against him here as well, I've heard it said, you either love Beckham or hate him and I think that's one of the reasons. We don't tend to have that kind of multi-cultural approach to the same extent as America. I'm not really sure why but you don't tend to see Linford Christie with African flags when sprinting or Nigel Benn when he fought.
