that was before 9/11 and whatever else happened after that...
I still like the guy and Benn and Watson. I grew up watching them. I won't pretend 9/11 didn't change things a bit but people can see Amir Khan's a definitely good guy it's just certain moves he makes and things he says which mean people have difficulty warming to him.
Put it this way.......Times have changed.......me myself being a muslim...and half egyptain (alot of people i dunno why see that as asian!? lol need 2 go do some mre geography lessons i think)...have seen so much change basicly since 9/11 happened.....Newspapers constantly pointing the finger at muslims for everything......even still to today i pick up a paper on the train, u will never see it say...a christian boy has done bla bla bla....but if hes a muslim jezzzzzzzzzz the word muslim is written in capital letters...wtf is that about? And then Asians are apparently "trying to act black", or "they think they are strong" n bla bla same shit...
I feel sorry for muslims all being labelled as one group, it's poor stereotyping.
They constantly get abuse........Most of my friends are white and black, they are completely unaware of how racist they are nowadays.....they will NEVER EVER say the word "Nig*er" ..... because most of the people are intimidated by black people and realize what has happened before with the slavery etc...but they will be the first person to say the word "p*ki" .....
I had a debate with a boy recently and he had the cheek to say and make himself look like a complete prick.....when i said to him, why is it ok for you to say P*ki but you expect no one to say nig*er....n he said "Because P*ki sint as bad" what a dick! And most people i know will say it without even thinking of it being racist....and for instance if any asian people are walking by and they are dressed as i would say "british" i will hear people i know say..."o they think they are cool" or something...as if they havent been raised in the same society as the rest of us.........
P*ki is short for Pakistani so maybe that was his argument. It's not the words really it's how they are used.
People liked Naseem Hamed though, he was Asian.

I think it is racial, lets face it muslims arnt the most liked people out there and since muslim isnt an english religion its like he isnt emglish, i cant get across what i want to say very well. You go on some of the shitter forums and ther're all like yh but hes a muslim. Disgusting but hay thats the world we live in.
Indeed, Hamed had an ok following though, I was a fan as a kid.
so why so much love for Hatton then? :ugh:
He challenges himself by fighting the best there is, unlike certain other boxers..
Haye is black...calzaghe is white..... the point is English/British have a problem with Asians and i know this for a fact because i see it everyday......
Thus why i said if khan was black or white...we wouldnt have the same problem.
People liked Naseem Hamed though, he was Asian.
Ye Rite u will lol, wow a granny shagger song that makes the amount of arsenal songs add up to....1...2.... ahh 2 songs! "adebayor adebayor giv him the ball...n he will score" woho ...........lool
U lot have a chance...a VERY VERY slim chance, we should of tucked u away at old trafford...anyway gna stop talkin bout football now before i go on and on and on....
P.S i went 2 FA cup thrashing last year 4-0 at old trafford...best feeling ever at a game haha
I was at that game we outsung you all day despite getting thrashed. Goodday out.
It has nothing to do with race to be honest (well certainly in my books)
Lets take Haye for example, http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00477/david-haye_280x390_477342a.jpg
UK fans love him, and he's representing more than one country.
Another example is Calzaghe, who is Welsh - Loved by English people.

Arsenal are gonna rape united at the emirates. Manage to bag me a pair of tickets so i'll be there singing granny shagger and fat bastard to rooney. CLUB THEN COUNRTY

I'm starting to think UK is just as racist as the US. We have boxers here that represent not only the US, but also their country of origin. You'll see Mexican-American boxers sporting trunks with the Mexican flag colors etc.. and he is accepted as much as any other American athlete.
Khan has potential (and amazing hand speed), I believe that. Once Pac is done, I think he will become Roach's next prodigy.

I don't think he was overhyped, I think he was a top player. But if you go to the continent they'll tell you the hype didn't match the substance which is probably true, his popularity would lead you to think he was the best player in the world but he was never quite that good. Sometimes that hype worked against him here as well, I've heard it said, you either love Beckham or hate him and I think that's one of the reasons. Anyway, not the best place for a football discussion.
Ok fair point! haha
Back on the subject...i was about 2 say something about khan...n just remmemberd it was a thread about B-Hop!!!
Yes he got boo'd like mad! lol
God, we must be cut from the same cloth, because weak chinned/power punches make my cock tingle.
I know, I just don't get why people love guys with great chins.
With a guy with a dodgy chin and good power it doubles the chances of a 'wow moment.'
LOL are you being serious? Yes im a united fan but more then that im a football fan....every1 that loves football knows what beckham did for it, he was the reason alongside a few other united players we won the treble...hes 1 of the reasons english football got so big....hes also probably the only reason the england team ever qualified or got as far as they did in most competitions....my ass he is overhyped lol people that say that must have no knowledge about football or just plain and simple dislike him...

I'm going with my girlfriend. She likes Khan from that time he was on 'Beat the star.'
Khan is probably my favourite fighter now Joe has gone. I like vulnerable fighters. Him and Haye are mustard in my eyes.

I'll be going, and will back Khan. I'd rather see a half empty O2 arena full of real boxing fans, then a full house wanting to see Khan get KTFO again but i get the feeling the latter is more likely to happen.
Khan is on his own. Maybe it's best this way?

We don't tend to have that kind of multi-cultural approach to the same extent as America. I'm not really sure why but you don't tend to see Linford Christie with African flags when sprinting or Nigel Benn when he fought.
Thats true....the british way is either...you support your country, and no other or we dont like u.......not exactly like that but u get wht i mean
Well you're a United fan so you would say that. The same did happen with Rooney but it wasn't stupid petulance like Beckham, it was aggression and we all like Rooney for being that sort of player.

LOL let me make this clear....Beckham was NEVER overhyped....he was boo'd because he got a red card in the world cup against argentina and the fans used him as an excuse for losing......
same happened with rooney but difference is rooney will never be hated by england cos hes their hope.
