In the modern era of internet and cable, Pacquiao-Hatton must be the biggest fight ever. Even CNN joined the fray. It's rare ocassion that CNN features a boxing match and the boxers themselves. I think this is my first to hear about boxing on this network.
Boxing is back in the mainstream. Thanks to Manny, Ricky, Roach, Floyd Sr., Arum, Goldenboy, the hardcore boxing fans and the media hypes.
What countries is this free to air?
And if it is, wouldn't it be easy to get a working stream then?
I don't think it's free to air in the Phillipines but Pinoy posters could affirm/deny that.
its free in the philippines but on a delayed telecast..so some people go to bars or cinemas to watch this fight..but if u dont have money u can watch this on a delayed telecast even if u dont have a cable
because you are reading Hatton fanzines?
If you think this fight does anywhere near THE WORLD AWAITS, then you are a complete moron.
Hatton - Mayweather did more numbers then Mayweather - ODLH.
This fight will do more numbers then both of those and break the record easiley!
its to help build up Manny for his fight with Floyd.....THAT will make this look small......Floyd sales fights better than any fighter alive today......:cool2:
lmfao what a fucking cunt
Yeah my bad, i'm hungover. I meant DLH.
And you're right. PPVs are important but people in America i think hang on them too much. As you pointed out, in many nations this isn't a PPV fight. It's a free to air, or basic cable station fight.
I'm telling you right now i can't remember international hype for a fight to this extent for a long, long ****ing time.
It could do badly for PPV numbers in America, but that won't be a fair reflection of how many people are anticipating this fight.
Alot of you are looking at it the wrong way.
From an ignorant perspective of "in my country".
This isn't anywhere near as hyped at Hatton-Mayweather in Britain, at the same time, that means little.
Rest assured more people are interested in this fight globally than 99.9% of fights listed. Including PBF Vs Mayweather.
Just because in your town, city or country it might not be as hyped, or might not sell as many PPV numbers doesn't actually mean its less popular.
Globally this is one of the biggest boxing fights i can remember in terms of hype and interest. Go to Greece, New Zealand, Syria.. This fight is big news. Bigger news than PBF and Mayweather were.
u min DLH and Mayweather right?but yeah..this got to be one of the biggest..ill just ask people who dont believe that this could probably be the biggest fight ever..let's assume that this eclipse the PPV numbers of MAY and DLH would u now say that this is the biggest fight ever? of course u'll say yes coz of the PPV numbers..PPV numbers are a good scale to measure how big a fight is but it's not the sole basis..remember most people in the phillipines with 90 million people watch this fight free..u can just feel how big this fight is..but i wont say all time coz again im just 22..but in my lifetime, this one is number 2..lol..fo me, morales-pac 2 was still the number 1

Those are two very hard fights to live up to. DLH-Floyd broke every record and Hatton-Floyd had massive success as well.
It would be really hard for this fight to live up to those as far as $$$$.
But perhaps seeing as a whole nation will watch this fight, the number of people seeing this one will probably be greater. It just doesn't necessarily translate into the same financial success- which is probably what a Floyd stan would argue and be right about that part.
ur right..not the biggest financial fight ever..but the biggest in terms of people anticipating for this fight..:boxing:
Michael Jackson and Elvis were fighters? :)
I wouldn't mind seeing Brittney Spears on foxy boxing or oil wrestling.
That would be easy to promote and as long as she didn't sing, it would break all ppv records :luvbed:
:lol1: Joke
Can't wait for the fight tonight.
Yep!!! I could see why it would be like that, Thats why i said it depends on where you from...So there wasnt any hype about pacman's fight with Oscar over there??
the oscar fight was just the icing in the cake..the morales rematch was the biggest i guess coz of the fact that he lost to him..the nation just rallied behind PacMan's back on that one to regain the pride.it definitely was the most emotional fight..this one should be the biggest fight for the brits coz of the loss by hatton to mayweather..this fight should regain brit's pride if hatton wins so i understand the sentiments that this is the biggest fight ever..i guess the OP is a brit..this one is an emotional fight for brist i guess
Yeah, I agree with this post. The live gates were nuts too. You would have fights with over 100k people.
But you know the diversity of choices people have today in sports, and ways to listen to and watch fights, kind of dilutes the overall effect.
And back then, news and hype for a fight would be on page 1 of the newspaper. Today you're lucky it's even on page 1 of the sport section in domestic and international papers.
True, but if you promote it right, it's quite easy actually to draw a big crowd. Look at Britney Spears.
Oh, and Prime Michael Jackson and Elvis > Hatton and Pac
You think more people will watch then let's say Tyson-Holyfield (which I watched in Japan) or DLH-Trinidad (which I watched in the middle east)
I mean there were some great fights. This is just one of many.
i'm not saying it's the biggest fight ever, it's no where near. i'm just saying to the floyd fans, this fight is very big and comparable to the floyd fights with hatton and odlh.
im in Phils so i guess this fight is the biggest fight next only to morales-pac 2, just my opinion,,:boxing:
