Why would Mayweather fight Marquez?

when he could make twice or three times as much in a rematch against Hatton, Pac, Cotto, Shane?? Doesn't make sense to me. Marquez is a tough fighter don't get me wrong and I think he deserves a shot against Mayweather but from Floyds standpoint, why? Erm well Cotto's fighting Clottey, if you didnt already know Hattons fighting Pacquiao on saturady, and Shane ent fighting again till autumn. What the **** is so hard to understand? PW calls out EVERYBODY, but is not yet a draw (and i'm a PW fan, by the way), and who gives a shit about cory spinks? if it comes out that floyd made less than the 8 MILLION shane was offering, then you can say he ducked shane, but until we know the terms of the contract he's getting for fighting JMM, its best not to say anything. you guys seriously OVERESTIMATE shane's drawing power.

It's a fight that doesnt make sense and floyd and his team specialize in making people think it will make sense, it will be relevent, and it'll be competitive and worth your $60.

i think it's sad and disrespectful people call Marquez; Mayweather's "tune-up" bout. FFS take his dick out your ass and respect fighters. It's a fight, plain and simple. Does the fight make sense? No, Marquez is at 135, will have to fight old and with added weight, againest still a fresh young fighter who fights at 147+ is basically pointless.

A marketable name on Floyd's resume with a small risk. Something we've become familiar with Floyd Mayweather as he's gained mainstream popularity. But I believe his biggest challenges are ahead of him. :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Cotto did worse than that..He fought Micheal Jennings..LOL The little f@ggot also fought ALPHONSO GOMEZ. A good small fighter is better than a big bum. Fighters have a limit or else Marquez would be fighting for the Welter weight title. Atleast Cotto fought a natural WW and not asking an old fighter to move up in a weight class where he can't event beat any of the WW even Jennings has a chance to beat him at 147. Cotto unlike floyd was hurt in his last fight not resting. Its not like Floyd aint training, because he just retired to avoid the WW take a rest and look for an easy challenge. Wasn't Alfonso Gomez the fighter that knocked out washed up Gatti? Yeah the old Gatti that Floyd Mayweather fought and still cheated against him hitting when the ref called for a break. Cotto fights Clottey in June. Hatton fights Pacman May 2nd. Clottey fights Cotto in June. Mosley and Floyd only play tag. PWill just fought Winky. Floyd wants to fight in July-Aug. Marquez called out Floyd. Too short of a break for everyone I mentioned. Mosley and Floyd will only play "call-out" tag. PWill just fought Winky at 160. So that means Marquez is the only one available. your welcome.

For instance, say Miguel Cotto took the same hiatus off and came back and fought Juan Diaz, would you consider that a fair tune up fight?

If floyd beats Marquez It would be impressive because Marquez is p4p number 2 and Money been away for 17 months, naturally i expect him to lose or take more shots than normal otherwise the guy is very talented. If you take the #2 P4P theory out of the equation, do you look at this fight as a competitive fight? Are there any advantages Marquez would have over Floyd being his climbing up 2 weight classes?

I think it sets up Mayweather-Pacman well. Manny beats Hatton Floyd beats JMM the winners fight, sure why not. Aside from that I think he believes he can win easily and the fight should do good business on PPV. It will be interesting to see 2 of the really great boxers of this era fight, I always though Floyd be beat on JMM because Floyd was bigger but JMM has proven me wrong before.
