and being counted out in R.12
Things aren't looking good for US boxing right now, all the star performers are from overseas with the home fighters getting ktfo on the regular.
Which young US fighter do you see coming through that might potentially rescue them from this mess?
Perhaps they can convince Calzaghe to relocate to the US???
Chad Dawson.
Floyd Mayweather (Provided he returns).
Paul Williams.
Timothy Bradley.
Bernard Hopkins.
Kelly Pavlik..
They ain't doin' as bad as you're trying to make out.
Thats pretty good quick response..
left out peterson brothers... Also kirkland once he gets right wit the law... then of course CHAD DAWSON...
Hmmm Froch did great but your looking a lil crazy for saying we are on our knees... now if you mean marquee names then maybe a glimmer of light on your point.
I'll allow you to change your statement to big name attractions.
For the record, Froch has made himself a new fan with me, though I never hated him. I defended Calzaghe for the most part and I WOULDN'T be SO shocked if Hatton won, I just don't think he will.
I'm not sure Hatton will win either but I hope to fk he does. If he fights the way he normally fights and the ref allows some in-fighting (not holding, just leaning in) I think he'll put Manny to the sword, if not I think we might see a slow death for Ricky.
One thing's for sure though, if he beats Pac he'll have hit the big time like never before.
Froch seems like a good bloke too, most of our best fighters seem to be decent guys, we only had one twat and that was Eubank.

But, facts are facts. Boxing is populated by WAY more Americans then Brits. Especially elite fighters.
Imagine if Michael Jordan took boxing instead, he would be P4P best super middleweight. Such a superb athlete. And the behemoths at American Football would dwarf the super-heavies.
It is all speculation, so it is pointless.
well why i'm a fan of british boxing, is the fights that got me started in boxing, were all british fighters and i used to get all these old britsh fights on my tv as a child....kinda grew up with it...and i love the the fighting styles of the brits....its not like your typical middle/eastern european style....its a really unique style.
fair enough, I grew up watching Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank and Michael Watson and that's what really got me into the sport. In truth, I like the US as a place, their people and their boxing, this is just some banter.
Hey take it easy, jejejeje LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!:rofl::rofl:\
Lol. I love my Boricuas. Shit is true, you guys win alphabet titles like you MUST. Good deal. If only your champions didn't tweeze the eyebrows. LMAO. I kid, I kid.
I didn't say that. Anyone can be a fan of any boxing. I was just wondering if there was a connection, that's all.
is that the pfp status so many yank posters are determined that he won't have if he beats Pac?
No, the ring belt has nothing to do with P4P rankings.
hold up, UK has 60 million people to the US's 303 million and boxing isn't even a big thing at all over here unlike the way it's hyped in the US.
Boxing is not big AT ALL over here. What the hell are you smoking?
Okay then, look at it this way. 32 fighters, compared to 9 fighters. The U.S. has THREE times the amount of fighters, with much higher rankings having fought better opposition and higher RANKED opposition. More 'titles' and I'm almost positive I missed some Americans, some that I left out out of laziness. Which would make it four times (only needing 4 more fighters to do that) and having a few fighters left over.
Realistically, the U.K. has to lay off this size differential BS. Puerto Rico is no bigger than a K-Mart and their fighters are damn-near GIVEN 'titles' when they turn pro.

Didn't Hatton state that the only belt which matters is the Ring Belt?
Not sure. I do know that he happily graced the cover of that magazine and that the British media embraced that magazine when they crowned him fighter of the year.
I always thought you were British J.B., how come you're such a fan of British boxing?
no, polls on NSB are always horribly biased towards fat yanks. You guys are always pulling extra numbers on us.

Given that the USA has a population about four times that of the UK, your list looks quite proportional to me.
If both territories were of the same population level, you could make that kind of comparison, but they aren't.

I think it is their choice to be down, if at all. Right now, if Am-football and NBA was outlawed, boxing would definitely be owned by Americans.
Don't make stupid excuses:spank::spank:
It is sad when a Yank can't be considered a fan of British boxing by your standards.

Population is only one factor to look at. Check out PR or Mexico for example.
