I mean the actually takes risks.
For one thing, Calzaghe's best win was against Kessler, which was at the end of his career.
Froch's biggest win is Taylor, who is better than kessler imo, and it was Froch's first title defence.
Another thing is , I mean he says he will give Taylor a rematch.
When Calzaghe is asked tog ive a rematch he avoids, unless the guys name is Veit, and this guy veit is stopped in the first round lol.
When asked to give 44 year old Hopkins a rematch, he always throws a tantrum.... Then retires.

Taylor is shot now?
**** off.
He's been shit for 3 years. At least.
Christ, I'm delighted that Froch got the win but you kids on here are ignorant reactionary cunts immediately after a fight.
As someone who did see it, I'd pick Kessler and Bute to easily UD both. Poss KO. I'd love to see him fight Andrade - and that's a pickem.
You are a idiot if you think Froch is better than calzaghe.
Not Legacy nor Skill wise!!!!!!!!
Define legacy. Now every white guy who retires undefeated goes to the Guiness books? Fuk out here, Froch was VERY impressive last night, Taylor has some flaws but he's no joke. It was an hard fight and Froch was a just winner. Zaghe fought 2 40 year olds one of which, Bernard, had lost to Taylor TWICE! On the fight itself it was curious observing Taylor fights as a counter puncher, waiting but doesn't counter punch :lol1:, he waits to get hit and then tries to reply, which is the recipe for another Kayo loss against bigger guys. Still great win for Froch.

kessler can actualy box for 12 rounds unlike taylor
this must be a joke thread.
carl froch has only 1 name on his resume and he's 32. the guy he beat had been exposed by kelly pavlik who is a one dimensional bum.
you can't say calzaghe defended against bums and then praise hopkins as a god at a same time
Please dont let us overrate this win now, Froch had to make a name for himself and presented with a name fighter like Taylor gave him that chance to prove himself.
Fighter who are on the outside looking in alway have to take more risk than fighters on the inside unless you're cotto who just fights anyone.
Froch is better than Calzaghe because he pulled out a KO despite being outboxed for the previous 35.5 minutes by a shot Taylor?
You couldn't make this shit up.
lol - well put my man.
froch is not better than calzaghe at anything aprt from taking risks and annoying the hell out of people.
in terms of skills, acheivements, competition faced and beaten, legacy and respect from other fighters (imo the respect of your fellow colleagues is more important than anything else) froch is behind in every single category.
taylor is a good fighter and jean pascal is a credible name, but joe has defeated a steady stream of top competition - eubank, reid (prime reid imo would have beat froch and lacy), brewer, mitchell, lacy, sheika and kessler.
imo if froch wants to come out calzaghes shadow and be mentioned in the same breath as other great british SMW's like benn, eubank and collins he needs a win over kessler.
not sen the fight yet but from what I have heard JT schooled Froch for most of the fight. I'm not Calzaghes biggest fan, far from it but he would do to Froh what he did to Jeff Lacy. I think once Froch faces Kessler he will get beat with ease.
how do you know taylor aint better than kessler? who has kessler proved himself against that suggests he's better than taylor?
anyway this whole thread is talkin about legacy wise, altho i'd still give calzaghe the edge in legacy due to the fact he retired undefeated in 46 fights and even tho he barely squeezed a victory out with hopkins and bea a shot jones that alone probabley puts him above froch
but how can you argue that a kessler win looks better than a taylor win on a resume?
kessler beaten??
taylor beaten, b-hopx2 and cory spinks
How do I know Taylor ain't better than Kessler? By watching them both fight. How else? :lol1: How did I know Froch would KO Taylor? By watching them both fight and making an educated guess. Kessler would also KO Taylor.

Kessler beats the Taylor we saw last night comfortably, in mine. What wins does Taylor have at SMW that could lead anyone to share your opinion? That said, I'll concede Froch certainly isn't afraid to take risks compared with Calzaghe - and an awful lot of other people.
We've been here before. Firstly, where has he said that? I haven't seen it. Secondly, Taylor is in no position to get one, he was the challenger and he was KO'd on his own turf, end of. He needs to earn another shot the hard way.
The only person who has ever mentioned it is Hopkins; whom Calzaghe loathes with a vengeance, as shown by the 'respect' shown to B-Hop during the fight now immortalized in somebody's avatar. Calzaghe had nothing to gain from a rematch, so why should he give B-Hop one? Nobody else wanted it, the first fight was terrible. Kessler would have been a better rematch, perhaps with less justification but at least we would have stayed awake to watch it. If he'd kept fighting Calzaghe should have fought Dawson or (long overdue) Johnson, not B-Hop again
Quite.
he could gain respect.
he could try to land actual punches instead of tricking the judges into thinking his air slaps were landing.
if he hates hopkins he should want to "kick his ass" again as he put it
funny how you can kick someones ass without touching them while getting your face beaten up to mush.
guess he has no dignity.

The Veit rematch was a mandatory. Reid was offered a rematch and refused it. And Taylor is NOT better than Kessler. You're ****ing nuts to suggest that he is.

Froch is 31 and just had his 1st risky fight against a fighter who was exposed twice by Pavlik and he looked bloody awful until the last minute of the fight and would've lost the decision had Taylor just clinched a little at the end when he got buzzed.
Calzaghe fought Eubank early in his career for the title and Eubank is better than Taylor. An undefeated Lacy and Kessler were far greater risks than Taylor is since Pavlik.
Let's see Froch fight Hopkins right now, he wouldn't have a chance because Hop is too skilled for him.
Dude, Kessler was Joe's biggest win.
Taylor is just Froch's first title defence

in my eyes froch has surpassed calslapper. Coming over to defend his title against jermain taylor is something he would have NEVER had the courage to do
Froch gets a lot of props in my book.. I believe jermain defeated himself last night but froch deserves his credit
You are a idiot if you think Froch is better than calzaghe.
Not Legacy nor Skill wise!!!!!!!!
Skill wise maybe not but....Calzaghe had a "Legacy"?
What's that? Facing WBO Mandatories for 10 years?
lol?
