Catch Paul Appleby defend his British featherweight title against Martin Lindsay in Belfast live on Setanta Sports 1.
Young British Boxer of the Year Appleby understandably goes into the bout as favourite but his last defence against Esham Pickering revealed some frailties as well as displaying his undoubted talents.
For a time in the third quarter of the bout Pickering, though past his best and fighting a bigger man, used his veteran skills to frustrate him and had some success, tagging the Scotsman in the ninth round.
If it had been Lindsay throwing this punch, Appleby may not be able to recover.
Lindsay is a totally different challenge to Pickering for Appleby, a man who the champion will not have to go looking for.
Roared on by the Ulster Hall crowd Lindsay will expect the fight to play out similarly to his battle with Derry Mathews where after having difficult moments against a slick boxer his punching power ended the bout.
Although he will not expect such a sickening one-punch knockout that his left hook provided, which he himself admits to not liking watching, he will feel confident of getting to Appleby and taking advantage of a possible weakness in stamina.
The clash in styles could potentially provide another classic Lonsdale title bout to rival Hayemaker's last televised headline show between Tony Quigley and Tony Dodson.
With a potential world title fight against IBF champion Cristobal Cruz looming for the winner it could be that Appleby rises to the occasion and edges an action-packed bout.
Andy Kerr and Steve Bunce will present the show live from the Ulster Hall at 8.15pm on Setanta Sports 1.

Kamikaze match-making really.
Appleby is only 21. He was bound to put in a shit display at some point.
I like Lindsay though, he could capture a European title.
Lindsay showed impressive power similar to when he fought Derry Matthews but Appleby was poor and can box a lot better than that. But he's only 21 and can come back.
Great stoppage by the referee though and I have no idea how Tommy Gilmore (Appleby's manager) could complain about it. Paul was out on his feet and wouldn't be doing any interviews otherwise.
In previous fights Appleby's looked OK and showed that he had a decent boxing brain even though some people were getting carried away with him but tonight he was really poor.
he barely landed one clean punch
i understand that Lindsey is pretty awkward but I had hoped for more, a lot more
Neither fighter was impressive tonight. Both fought like inexperienced fighters and anyone could have seen that coming. This fight should never have been made but hopefully they can both learn some valuable lessons to take with them in the future.
Have to agree with bunce at the end, there definitly not ready for World title fights and would get destroyed, hope theres a rematch. Rogan and Haye seem preety happy with the result anyway :P .

first time i seen appleby, really unimpressed
second time i seen lindsey, and second time i seen him beat someone who has been touted britain's #1 prospect at one point or another
Nice counter punches from Lindsay, Lindsay potshotting Appleby and looks to have hurt him. Appleby hurt pretty bad, It's over.
Lindsay by tko, nice win for the Irish after Dud'dy lost yesterday.
I have Setanta and should be watching this right now.
Instead i'm looking at Roary the racing car and wondering if the screams if I turn over would spoil the fight...
I'm working tonight otherwise i would be there.
Hopefully Lindsay can pull of a minor upset tonight.
Gotta head of to a nightshift now, must have a look for a replay online tomorrow. Should be a good fight.
