floyd apparently doesn't... that's what i don't get
floyd probably thinks jmm is a tune up
darchinyan recently said he wants pacquiao. you don't see pacquiao jumping on the offer.
vazquez wanted a fight with pacquiao as well. how fair would have those fights been?
pac has no reason to fight those dudes.
jmm is a tune-up / lead-in for a fight with pac.
jmm thinks its fair to fight at 144, why don't you get that?

if he always thinks money then he would have accepted the margarito offer a while back.. he is a chicken/money hog
there was no $8 million, arum was just bullshiiting.
the point of this thread is DON'T SAY JUMPING 2 WEIGHT CLASSES IS NO BIG DEAL WHEN EVEN THE GREAT FLOYD NEVER ATTEMPTED IT.
floyd wanted to jump from 135 to 147-154 to fight oscar, but oscar didn't want it for whatever reason.
jmm is lucky that floyd isn't as picky as dlh.
i care.
it doesn't matter to me whether he did or not.
but it does matter to me that floyd fans seem to think it's no big deal for jmm to jump 2 divisions to take a fight with floyd

when floyd (the greatest of his era , supposedly) never even tried it.
jmm is lucky as hell that floyd will make a fight with jmm... floyd wanted to jump from 135 to whatever division dlh was at the time (154 i think) to fight but dlh told floyd to fight at 147 a couple times and increase his ppvs first. jmm is getting a free ride to the big time.
Dude, that's just all hate.
He wanted Oscar when he was still at 140. Do you think if Oscar, then, offered him a shot but at 154 that he wouldn't take it? Money May thinks money first. Can you blame him?if he always thinks money then he would have accepted the margarito offer a while back.. he is a chicken/money hog

Why wasn't Oscar a WW against Pacquaio then?
why do people keep going off subject?

hah funny you mention that in the Roach Floyd Sr. interview , Roach said that pac walks around at 155. At least Floyds "unofficial" weight is always close to what his official weight is.
 But all the floydstans say that he's only a small WW. :omfg::omfg:
It will likely be at 154 :D

why dont you go back and check out pac & jmm and tell me the weight of them on fight night and the weight of there opponents and lets see how that stacks up with the weight of floyd and his opponents. Floyd at lw came in at 139 and only had 4 fights before moving up despite being the smallest guy in the division, floyd at 140 came into the ring at 144 and only had 3 fights before moving up despite being again the smallest man in the division, he then goes to ww where he has came into the ring at 148 in every single fight. He has one fight at sww where he weighed in at 150 only because oscar mandated it and came into the ring at 148. He was fighting oscar who was 162. Baldy was also 162. Chico was 147 when floyd fought him at 130. Castillo was 147, and the list goes on and on.
Pac has moved up a bunch but he has never ever fought a guy who was bigger then him. In most of his fights he's the bigger man and in alot of them he's the much bigger man. He moved up alot but most of the times he fought other guys who had moved up. Em is a big guy for his weight and pac made him look like a little boy in the ring. Pac was weighing 147 in the ring when he was fighting em at 130. He's been the bigger guy in every fight until he fought diaz who was the same size as him. He then fights oscar who everyoe thought would be bigger and he ends up being the same exact size as oscar. Its a joke. Jmm has only fought the mexican guys and its the same thing. There all his size. Let floyd fight guys his size and see what will happened. P4p there bigger then floyd and p4p they size wise always have better matchups in floyd. They have never fought in the ring with guys outweighing them by 15 pounds like floyd. Never. No one looks at that. Jmm was going to 140 anyways and floyd is by far the smallest ww. Stop trying to make a big deal of it. I dont hear you saying that floyd shouldnt fight the ww's who come in between 162-170 when floyd is always at 148. How come you dont speak up then? Instead you call him a punk if he doesnt
bingo!!!!!!
what if the pacman fight gets made at 147?
to me that's more fair.
by then pac would be the 140 champion and had at least 1 fight at 147.
pac carries the weight better than jmm. everytime pac moves up he looks good at the weight.
jmm doesn't look right to me at 135. credit jmm for koing diaz and casa but that doesn't mean he looks good at 135.
De La Hoya and Castillo... what's with the hate thread though Tua? Come on be fair mate...
i don't like the jmm-floyd matchup.
it bothers me.
jmm is too small for floyd.
floyd fans are acting like jmm jumping to 147 is fair and it's not.
He didnt take tune up when he fought Castillo, when he moved to light welter his first fight was a wbc title eliminator with Corley. This technically isnt a tune up either as it was a eliminator fight.
He took a tune up when he fought Mitchell, but didnt take one when he fought Oscar.
So to answer your question he's had one tune up fight.
technically , floyd has fought at lightweight multiple times before he won his 130 belt. i originally counted castillo as the only time he jumped without taking a tuneup since i forgot about oscar but now i'm not counting that and only counting oscar as the only time he took on the top guy in the division without taking a tuneup at the weight first. :)
was corley the top guy in the division? so moving up 7 lbs. to take on corley is the equivalent of marquez moving up 12 lbs. and fighting floyd now?
