On JMM, Agree or Disagree?

With a unreliable chin at 130 which has been rocked badly at 135.... at 147 it'll be glass. Not alwyas the case, sometimes fighters have to dehyrdrate to make a weight like that, when they no longer have to dehydrate, they may be a little slower at a higher weight, but they may be more stable on their feet...

I agree. And this isn't any slight towards JMM at all. How long is Floyd able to do this for? Not saying he isn't a good boxer or anything, just saying I'd like him to show me how good he is by fighting a legit WW.

Alfonso Gomez vs JMM? Honestly, That fight would never happen, Alfonso wouldn't even feel his punches, that is such a weird match up.

that's why this fight is kinda a hard sell sure Marquez is recognized very highly on Pound For Pound lists but how is he supposed to come across as a legit opponent at 140+ for Floyd when Juan Manuel is just establishing himself as a Lightweight (with the huge wins over Diaz and Casamayor). and on top of that ^ JMM has yet to ever fight at 140.

If JMM just signed to fight at 144lbs with Alfonso Gomez.... I would definitely be favoring JMM.... Floyd Gets WAY more credit for fighting JMM at 140... at 143-145... he gets the credit for beating a tune up opponent with a name... Answer the poll to the bolded part... at 130, and MAYBE 140... JMM is a MEGAMATCHUP and a SERIOUS threat to anyone... at 143-145lbs... JMM is a TUNE UP... a SOLID tune up... We don't really know how JMM is going to fight above 135. People can't assume he'll physically be able to climb up in weight and carry over his skills, power, and everything just because Manny did it. What if Marquez just has a terrible outing against Floyd? I would agree..... at 36, I dont know how much JMM would want to change his physique though.. true but, hey, regardless of his age, these are golden days of his career - he's being handed opportunities he wouldn't have got in his physical prime and he obviously feels it's worth it to persue them... as Del Boy would say "He who dares wins, Rodders... Oh I know he's a great fighter and a great warrior I just would be shocked if he won this fight. I'm also shocked that Nacho thinks they have a chance in this fight. I just think JMM is too old, and too small to contend with what Mayweather brings. Not to mention the fact JMM has been convinced to fight at 140+ is rediculous. I love JMM but I think if he wins this fight it will be one of the greatest upsets in the history of the sport and I'm not bullshittin. i think if absolutely anyone beats Floyd it would be a tremendous upset i think JMM can handle Floyd's pace and his power. and i think JMM is too precise, too calculated and too smart to be fristrated in there he just gets hit a little too easily these days, and i doubt he can hurt Floyd - so i predict Mayweather will take over in the latter rounds and decision him (JMM is simply not getting knocked out, his will is too strong) JMM's reward for winning is very, very great though... and he obviously believes in himself

incidentally, i been meaning to ask; how much did JMM weigh against Diaz on the night? JMM weighed 140 on fight night. He is a small lightweight and would be tiny against any 140lber or above.

For me personally, im going to be in better shape and faster, if i have to train to get to 170, instead of 175... regardless of what I may weigh on fight night... I still had to put in that extra work... Only reason posters won't give Floyd credit for beating JMM above 140 is because they hate him. If Floyd happens to beat JMM at 143 then JMM goes up to 147 to fight Cotto then it would be okay and fair for NSB posters. Everybody knows Mayweather is an all around better fighter than JMM in any weight they would have met in. Excuses to hate a great fighter, that's all. I think the one thing people don't mention or want to mention is the fact JMM is 35 going on 36 for this fight. He's old, yes he's still good enough to beat someone like Juan Diaz but I just don't see him having enough to beat Mayweather, past his prime and undersized. I'm not taking anything away from Mayweather for fighting him , money is money but I don't think it will be as big as test as some might think. Maybe 10 years ago but not now. I don't know why JMM is taking this fight other than money.
