I have some doubts about this. That fight date is not very far off and there has yet to be any official confirmation. There would be very little time to promote the match before it happened.
The problem here is that if this fight isn't at 140 Lbs then it is a joke.
FM Jr looks like a bigger chump than most think he already is. So with that statement I call the fight to happen at 147 lbs. If FMJr goes lower than that and has plans to fight the winner of Hatton/Pac. He will not be able to do so at 147 which is what he would want.
At 140 FM Jr Vs Marquez is a great fight.
BUT I am surpised he dosent go up to 154 and grab another belt.
No one at 154 really. But that means having to fight certain people at 147. Mainly Mosely or Cotto.
I understand the complaints about the weight issues but JMM is the one who wanted the fight knowing he's never fought at 140 or higher and yet Mayweather is getting the hate? Typical.
are you sure this is knew? It still sounds basicaly like the very 1st talks about this. It sounds like its something from a month ago

i like marquez as much as the next guy but if he really feels that unconfertable about fighting at something like 143 then he shouldnt have took the fight period. i dont see 5 - 10 differance as a huge advantage for floyd really. it sure as hell didnt help delahoya over floyd.
1. Marquez takes the fight at 147, he's making his own bed. He cant blame the loss on anyone but himself.
2. The fact that Floyd wont go below 147 (even though his groupies on this forum have used the excuse that he's too small of a WW to fight Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Margarito) further proves that he just looks for the easiest merit badges.
3. DLH is/was way past his prime in the PBF and Pac fights. The extra weight didnt matter because SPEED kills. This was apparent with the majority of the boxing world choosing PBF as the HEAVY favorite in that fight so the comparison is completely laughable.
You guys can defend Floyd all you want. Its not going to change public opinion. Floyd wont meet JMM at a catchweight? Well, thats more than bitchmade and just further proves perception of his careful resume shaping.
Juan Manuel Marquez had his trouble at 135 vs Juan Diaz. Diaz hand speed was giving Marquez trouble. Marquez had two fights at 135 and three in 130. If he fights he will make some good money, but this is in noway a fair fight for him. He's already slow enough.
yes, because we all know JMM has fought comfortably and effectively at anything above 140 many times before.

True, but at either weight Floyd will win regardless.
he should win, but i would never count out the masterful JMM. one of the most underrated fighters alive in the game.
We've never even seen JMM at 140, and people are acting like hes a worthy opponent above that weight.
Totally clueless.
What champions does a 35 year old who never fought above 135 beat at 140 or above?
Someone please try to justify this laughable fight.
I feel like laughing.
I'm gonna go take rip first to make it even better.
if when the fight night weigh ins are reported and jmm is 145 and floyd is 148 - 149 everyone better stfu about the weight thing.

I will tell you this. JMM looked much more healthier at LW then people are giving him credit for. I thought he looked like a Jr. Pac. By that I mean, he looked like he carries weight pretty well also. He looked very filled out. Not as much as Pac does but not too far away. People are making too big of a deal about the Diaz fight. Thats Diaz style. He's going to bully you some and most guys will let it happened because they know they can counter. Look at Floyd vs Chavez. That fight didnt prove that Floyd couldnt move up. JMM knocked out a very good fighter and probably the best guy at LW. You cant do that without being the real deal. I think to me it proved that he could move up. Not just anyone can stop Diaz
i agree, at 35 he looks very good, and i think at 40 he can look close or maybe the same as he does a 35, but more than that i feel it may hurt him against pbf. against someone else maybe he could pull it off, but not vs floyd imo.
I'm happy that this fight might happen. It's a tuneup fight but nothing about JMM says tuneup. Floyd is a small ww and Jmm is tough as nails, he would give hatton, pac, and cotto problems IMO. Nothing would be boring about this fight, plus all I've been hearing is Jmm is the real p4p champ so bring it on.
How do you know that if you havent seen him fight there before. If you asked anyone a few years ago they would have said the same thing about Floyd.
never said i know. i said imo. this is a boxing forum, correct? it is a debateable issue, is it not? opinions are more of a necessity in this type of an environment, rather than a matter of fact type justification, are they not?
not imo. jmm is to small for anything above 140 to be as effective, and have a chance to give pbf problems.

Doesnt make any sense what you just said. You mean without Floyd those fighters dont draw like they could otherwise. Dont let hate blind you.
it makes perfect sense. floyd is not near the draw that hatton or oscar are. it is what it is. why throw the 3 yr old "hate" comment? nuthug much?
Alot of writers seem to think that JMM can still give him trouble at 144 or even 145. They think those 2 or 3 pounds make a real difference from WW. You dont agree? Its not like Floyd is Williams, Margarito, Clottey, or Cotto. Floyd only came into the ring at 148 pounds for basicaly all his WW fights
not imo. jmm is to small for anything above 140 to be as effective, and have a chance to give pbf problems.
