who wins this?
Will Paul Williams be comfortable fighting @ the highest weight he has ever fought?
Will Hopkins be too big for Williams?
Will Williams' high workrate overwhelm Hopkins?
Hopkins stand offish style, and selective punch output would put him at risk of getting outworked, but he has dealt with fighters trying this before. He baffled Kelly Pavlik who isn't quite as activ as Williams, but hits alot harder. He barely lost to Calzaghe who is as active as Williams, and though he slaps for a man his size, he is natural to the 168 division, and thus carries more power than Williams. I just think Williams' lack of power would be his downfall, and Hopkins would just defend and hit him with the more effective blows in between.
I am not yet sold on Williams at 160, lets not jump him upto 168 yet.
The last time Hokins fought a Tall...southpaw who doesnt stop throwing punches he was outpointed....
Only this time..this southpaw has power..
Williams ud.
Please.
Paul Williams is one of the most easily hit targets from 154-160, he always leaves his chin hanging.
Bernard Hopkins would box circles around his ass.
Joe Calzaghe is a much more active, volume fighter. And even at 44 Hopkins was still able to cut his work rate in half.
He'd do the same with Williams.
