You may not have liked everything he's done and have been very critical of him, but you have to respect him. I was never the biggest Oscar fan. I criticized him, but I've always respected him. I will never forget what he's done and meant to boxing. Thank you for the memories Oscar!! Let's all pay our respect.
I was never a big fan, but the man fought anybody who was anybody in this game during his run. I've got a lot of respect for him, as a fighter as well as a damn good promoter.
Thanks Oscar! You are a legend. We will meet one day. Enjoy your family!
That's like when someone dies and people say "We will meet in heaven again one day"
DLH did for a long time fight the best there was out there. I give the man much credit and respect. Let's hope he continues to contribute to the sport by making the best match ups possible for the the fans through GBP.
I still remember watching his first pro fight and he has been one of my all-time favorites since. It truly was an honor watching him fight and he has done more for boxing that perhaps anyone in recent memory. Congratulations to him on a great career!
thx oscar you were 1 of the brighter lights in boxing...you retire with so much to look forward too, golden boy productions, schaefer youre on notice! the boss is gonna be hangin around alot more...i wonder how long before schaefer goes it alone...

Hes had a great career and nobody can argue that... earned a lot of money and helped publicize Boxing a lot, and also brought up a great promotion in GBP. He has a great resume and has fought the best out there win or lose and has achieved a lot in his career, he wasn't my favorite fighter... far from it to be honest, but you gotta respect what he did in his career. He should just enjoy retirement and be happy with how his career went regardless of how it ended.
Hats off to Oscar for being a great fighter. Fought the best. Hall of famer in my book. Lost his biggest fights but still a nice resume. Have fun in retirement champ...as you should with the way his wife looks lolz...
He always took on the best.. and for a while he was the best.. I remember seeing him fight for the 1st time.. and falling back in love with boxing because of it.. His punches were so silky smooth.. His combos crisp and accurate..His baby face hiding the savage within.. He was a Great finisher during his prime as well..
My only criticism is that eventually he took ODLH too seriously and sort of became a parody of himself..
But when he was Just a "Boxer".. no one was better
Oscar #1 .
Growing up in a small farm town in the midwest, u were the only bright spot in a boring and monotonous life. When i spoke of you as a fighter, i spoke of you with pride.
