Miguel Cotto in trouble might lose lisenced and belt

En el caso de los boxeadores, karatekas y luchadores profesionales, en Puerto Rico existe una ley donde de alguno de estos deportistas utilizar sus puños o manos para atacar a un ciudadano, el delito por lo que sería acusado es de tentativa de asesinato, pues estos constituyen según la ley establecida “armas mortales”. El caso de Miguel Cotto comenzó desde el mismo momento en que se reportó el incidente en el Gimnasio Bairoa de Caguas, la tarde del miércoles cerca de las 3:15 p.m. cuando el policía que lo investigó, el agente Antonio Quiñónez, alegadamente de primera intención no quería informar sobre lo sucedido. “Lo que pasa es que el policía Quiñónes se comprometió con Miguel Cotto de que no daría información a la prensa”, le manifestó la Oficial de Prensa en esta ciudad, Hilda Y. Rivera Colón, a este reportero cuando le cuestionó sobre lo ocurrido y ella originalmente le había dicho que el primero había rendido un informe cerrado del incidente. Fue EL VOCERO, el que originalmente supo de esta “pelea callejera” y aunque en medio de la solicitud del informe de querella para informar que la agente Rivera Colón dijo sobre lo ocurrido a los otros medios noticiosos del país. Serias contradicciones comenzaron a circular a nivel policíaco del incidente, tras el agente Quiñónes intentar ‘amapuchar’ la investigación del caso, tales como que había sido primeramente Miguel Cotto agredido por parte de su tío y entrenador de boxeo Evangelista Cotto y que este último repelió el ataque, cuando el agente Quiñónez de conocía que había sido lo contrario, que el campeón de boxeo había agredido a su tío primero. Este primer informe aparece firmado por la agente Rivera Colón placa 5787 e incluso en el no se informa de los daños que produjo Evangelista en el interior del apartamento del campeón de boxeo Miguel Cotto, cuando el policía Quiñónez lo sabía y supuestamente lo ocultó. Se espera que el lunes la fiscal Meléndez Rivera clarifique todos estos señalamientos y al interrogar a tío y sobrino, pues debido a la calificación del delito, que podría ser acusado el campeón, esta no podría despachar el caso por falta de interés. La fiscal también solicitara los exámenes médicos realizados en los hospitales donde fueron atendidos Miguel Cotto y su tío Evangelista, pues los expedientes hospitalario serían parte del pliego acusatorio. Esta investigación se realizaría paralela a otra que anunció también la Comisión de Boxeo de Puerto Rico.

I completely agree. Tight families always fight with one another. Its human nature. Ask any of the Cotto's do they want to press charges and we know the answer NO. The only losers in this fight is The Cotto family cuz nobody wins this fight. Agree. That's how my family is as well. We yell and throw fists but we are cool with each other. Very close. No hugging, no "I love you," etc. Fighting is another way of saying we care.

Great point. No one ever notices this. I love that whenever I say anything against Cotto, people say I'm a Mayweather fan. What does that have to do with anything? I didn't know there was a rule that you can only LOOOVE one and HAAATE the other. I've also said a lot of negative stuff about Mayweather, did I do this because I'm PRican? Nothing positive or negative I say about ANYBODY has to do with my nationality. I don't let that dictate my opinions, unlike most people. Vanished? I always said that I had the picture on a cellphone and didn't have the program to put it on here. If any of the PR posters ever meet me in person (and actually give a f*ck about it), I'll gladly show them the pic. If you don't see anything wrong with that incident, you're extremely messed up. The Mayweathers get called dysfunctional, and as far as I'm concerned, nothing like this ever happened between them. Also, the main beef I had was with how he dissed the media, saying that the problem between himself and his uncle was a fabrication, and now look at this. That makes him a liar, and he lied in the worst way possible - with insults and attacks. I've known Cotto since he was an amateur, he's always been cool to me and to the people that know him. But even if he was a dick like you claim who gives a ****. He's a great fighter and he puts on a hell of a show whenever he fights. Like I said what do you care what he said to the media, if it was me I tell them all to go **** themselves. He didn't do shit but beat the crap out of a man who thought he could do what he wanted and may have cost him millions of dollars for not doing his job properly during the Plasterito fight. If you judge a man for what he said to the media, for beating his uncle or for being a dick to you then it seems to be you're more of a grouppie than real boxing fan. Me I just judge his left hook to the body that shit is nasty.

How the **** would he lose his boxing license for that shit? I doubt that happens. Doesn't it say somewhere that if you're a boxer and fight outside of the ring (streets etc) you can loose your license? Don't know really.. Just asking..

who cares if he's a dick, some of you people are like little kids, oh miguel cotto is not a nice guy so what i like miguel the boxer i don't know miguel nor do i act like i do, i just find it funny that some people are fans of certain boxers because they are nice guys or seems like a regular down to earth guy, who the fukk cares Thing is, part of the reason I liked him was his demeanor. I saw him as a guy who's all business, calm, collected, serious, and focused. Many people told me he was just an arrogant prick, and I refused to believe it, and defended him. I kinda agree with what you're saying, and I understand where you're coming from, but I was not a fan of him just because I thought he was a nice guy. I've met Tito, and he's the nicest guy ever. I was never a Tito fan, yet when I saw him we talked for a while and it was like talking to one of my boys. I also met Calderon and he was dope as f*ck too. Juanma I've also heard is way humble and tight. If they can be like this with their fans, why can't Cotto? Oh and by the way, I've posted numerous times about how I was a Cotto fan (in fact, when I joined this board my sig was a pic of him), but stopped being one when I met him and he was a dick. The main reason I felt like shit was because I defended him as being "serious" instead of arrogant and indecent and shit like that. This is further proof of how I was wrong. I remember when he lashed out against the media here, saying that the "so-called feud" between him and his uncle was made up, that they (the media) always blow things out of proportion for sales and whatnot. How does this make him look now? You're a liar and also a Mayweather nuthugger. You made up some bullshit story about Cotto taking a picture with you and being a dick about it. What I admire Cotto for, is for what he does in the ring and not outside of it. He can fight his uncle, do some lines, **** till his dick drop off and drink till he doesn't know his name. No one should judge Cotto for whatever may go on his personal life, it doesn't affect his profesional life so it's none of our business. Y por aqui mencionaron que Cotto se metia y que perico y eso y hasta lo que yo tengo entendido el jode y bebe y todo eso pero hasta el limite de las drogas, porque anyways eso salia a relucir ya que para las peleas hacen pruebas de dopaje y eso se queda en el sistema y ya hubiese aparecido.
