he fought a one armed paulie in his last fight and he got bruised up under his left eye. dont let that fight fool you.
I'm not letting it fool me. Despite his opposition he still looked in better shape and put on a better performance than he did against Lazcano. He also showed some improvement in his boxing abilities, which will only get better after an extra training camp with Mayweather Snr under his belt. To say he is declining and will be a shadow of his former selfon May 2nd just doesn't seem right to me.
So despite the fact he looked revitalised in his last fight and in his training camp for this fight - we should trust your word that he is gonna turn up as a shadow of his former self? And you know this how??

I would love to see Ricky become the greatest Pound for Pound fighter on the planet by beating the great Manny Pacquiao, but I think he is sadly in decline, just as Manny is hitting his peak.
The Ricky Hatton that steps into the ring in Las Vegas on May 2nd will not be the same Ricky Hatton who demolished Castillo or Kostya Tszyu, but a shadow of his former self.
To my fellow Englishmen and my fellow Brits: please stop displaying such a hubris attitude to this match.
I know it is only natural for people to desperately want such a charitable and affable character to win such a huge fight, and it is only natural for so many to support Ricky so vociferously, but some are taking it too far and are making us look like arrogant buffoons.

If he beats pacman i dont think he'll be p4p no1.
Of course he won''t be #1. He'd need to do a lot more to get to the top spot.

but manny himself is used to that kind of thing... hatton shouldn't be dreading anything..
Hatton has done it before but it doesn't make it any more fun lol.. I'm sure Manny doesn't particularly enjoy doing it himself
Yea, I think he's dreading that run in the mountains though LOL - 12000ft above sea level? F**k that!

I don't think he said that in the video..
He was just saying that everything is going so well that he was wondering IF his sparring partners were gonna be any good because he is expecting something to go wrong as everything is going so well. He actually says that his sparring partners have been "absolutely exceptional" and Floyd and Lee Beard have been really pleased with his sparring.
exactly... in other words things are going so well that he's worried that his sparring partner's arent up to the task, obviously, of emulating pac's style.
honestly, i don't think anyone can emulate pac's style, but the best hatton can do is fight as many southpaws as he can and get used to the angles. then when he fights pac, he will have to make in-the-ring adjustments to pac.
that, or hatton can just start grappling pac from the get go... nothing spoils your opponent's style like grappling does.
nah, i think you can make an argument for hatton being p4p #1 if he beats pac, jmm, and pbf.
he doesn't have to dominate them, just beat them.
in the video, hatton says he's worried about his sparring partners and whether they are emulating pac's style... I'd say that is a huge concern.

"I think I'll enjoy Vegas a damn sight more after we've took that pound for pound title, I think."

I wish he would stop talking about being/becoming the #1 pound-for-pound. He won't be that. As a matter of fact, it's hard for me to see his path there even if he beats both Pac and JMM.
I know, I really don't get all this "fighting for the P4P title" crap. It's not just Hatton saying it either, it seems the media is buying into it as well - is there something us fans are missing???
But I think, depending on how he performs against Pac and if Mayweather stays retired, then I think he does have a chance of becoming P4P #1, but it all depends on what happends on May 2nd...
I would not be surprised if Ricky KO's Pac early since nobody knows how Pac can handle a prime JWW's power and Ricky has one of the best hooks to the body in the game. I would be extremely surprised if Pac was able to KO Ricky early like Roach is predicting. If Pac stops Ricky it will be late from an accumulation of punches IMHO.
i think pac will come out very methodical and then over time ricky will start to land...and then i see it the longer it goes the more of the fight will be about exchanges which imo will help ricky...and i could see the pacman gettink kd late..maybe not ko'd
