What's the bigger factor? Hatton's size or Pacquiao's speed?

pac's speed as i dont see hatton as a huge puncher. he can bang, yeah, but floyd already decked him and tszyu dropped him too. so, i think pac can drop hatton if he gets in a rhythm. i wonder if hatton will try to smother pac like he tried with tszyu. and how well the referee will respond if he does. u obviously didnt watch the tszyu fight,he didnt drop hatton

That's Girlie Malignaggi you're about. Pacman got his a$$ whooped twice early in his career, clocked by JMM good but never went down, and you probably saw what happened to JMM's 2 latest victims. He just keep coming for more. He knows he's in the hurt business, he'll be more than happy to return the favor. I just hope the turnbuckle won't be in the way this time to spoil the fun... personally, i dont see pac's early career as relevent in any way or form. he is completely different fighter. and i have seen every fight of pac's since 2000. and some before then too. way different.

The funny thing is I don't thin Hatton is that much bigger than Pacman and I don't think Manny is that much faster.

The thing about Size is that sometimes a guy moving up the division gets tagged the first time and he freezes and it's like "crap.. that really hurt" and he's no longer thinking about doing his job and is purely thinking about NOT getting hurt, perfect example is Malinaggi in Round 2, that right cross shock him up and he didn't want to be in the ring from that moment on. Pacquiaos' speed is overrated. Freddie Roach said Amir Khan is faster than Manny Pacquiao. Kendall Holt is faster than Pacquiao. Zab Judah is faster than Pac. Ricky Hatton's footwork is better than Pac's. I can't believe how old most of the posters on this forum are and the ridiculous things they that say just to go along with what everyone else is saying. No logic at all. It's Pre-Pavlik/Hopkins all over again with Pacquiao taking Pavlik's place, Outcome will be the same. Unbelievable posts. I keep hearing the argument about Hatton being bigger. We all know that Pacquiao is faster. What do you think will matter most? I think Pacquiao is gonna beat Hatton based on his speed and skill. Hatton's strength is an issue, but I don't think it'll matter too much. that's the million dollar question.......determines who will win. personally, i think hatton's attributes are the biggest factors in the fight......its great to have speed against hatton, but if you like to "duke it out" and aren't a defensively oriented fighter, i think sooner or later you get into a brawl.....and that favors hatton over pacman.

i hate ricky hugandhold hatton but i think he will give pacman a fight for his life. he has great footwork and cuts off the ring as good as anyone. but pacmans speed will be to much for him. pacman takes it by late ko.

Hatton isn't that much bigger then Manny. And i dont think the overall speed of Manny is that much greater then Hatton's. Sure his handspeed is faster, but Hatton has faster feet, and their overall head and body movement is pretty even.

On the other Hand speed kills and not only when driving.

Its amazing that people think that Hatton has no skill and is slow.GTFOH!!!!! dont worry,he is quick and skillful enough.Pacman has never fought at lw so how quick he will be we wont find out until may 2nd.Hatton looks razor sharp at the moment. Pac's speed. Hatton has to "try" to get inside on Pacquiao to be effective. But Pac's speed can keep Hatton at bay and Hatton has to keep up with his momentum. Plus I think Manny's timing along with his speed will tell how the fight will play out.

Unbelievable posts. i think youre the one talking with no logic. hattons footwork better than pacs, where did you get that from. pacs speed is not overrated, its his best asset, and one of the reasons he is great.

Hatton i a naturally Welter. He said himself he comes in to the ring at 150+. If he loses, he needs to retire

The only chance i see Ricky winning is with body shots, but i don't see Pac fighting inside. Pac UD12.

Some pretty good perspectives here - I like it. My opinions on a few things I read in this thread: 1) "Ricky is too big." - a non-factor, Manny's power is increasing with every weight move. 2) "The fight will depend on Manny's ability/inability to take body shots" - possibly - although his conditioning and core training regimen are truly second to none. 3) "this is a pretty straightforward fight for Ricky" - very true - and probably the biggest factor in this fight. The fact that Ricky comes straight at you is tailor-made for Manny. He will be able to tee off with both hands with relative ease. Noone can question Hatton's heart and tenacity, but MP is even more tenacious, IMO. Factor/advantage: Power - even Speed - Manny Stamina - Manny Defense - Manny Counterpuncher - Manny I'm real interested to see Ricky after more time in camp with Floyd Sr. - I didn't see a lot of changes in him in the first fight paired with him. If he can pick up and apply the defensive tips that he gets - it could change things a bit. But in the end - I think Manny is just too fast and has too good of footwork and will probably stop Ricky on cuts around 8 or 9. Looking forward to it, for sure. -The Ref
