ITS a known fact that after a long lay off boxers get ring rust and most of the time no matter how good they were before they never look the same as before the lay off or in this case retirement!!Now if Mayweather loses to either Pacman,Cotto,or Mosley does that means they where always better?or it was because of the lay off?and last question will you give pacman, cotto, mosley credit for beating him??????????
He is still young and ALWAYS in shape..
I do not think he will suffer any ring rust.. or from any diminished skills..
On the other side of things.. Floyd gets credit from his fans.. for beating guys with ring rust and/or diminished skills..
So what's the deal??
ring rust will be a factor if floyd doesnt get a tune up
Mayweather fans will claim that it was the lay off, Mayweather haters will say the other were always better.
It's just how you yanks seem to operate here, always bickering.
lol true.
And Cotto doesn't deserve a fight with pbf. Mosley would get bodied. As would hatton again, and soon pacman.
Starting with Gerano Hernadez,Gregorio Vargas,Demarcus Corley,Arturo Gotti,Carlos Baldomir,Sharmba Mitchel, and last but not least De la Hoya!!!
What was wrong with Hernadez?
Mitchell, Corley and you should add Judah were Kostya Tszyu left-overs.
Gatti: shot
Baldomir: Nothing wrong with him at the time other than he wasn't a "great" fighter unless you remember something I don't.
Oscar: Past his prime.

But, can you give him back his "want" to fight or give him back his youthful body that is breaking down (which he says). Give him healthy hands and give him that same attitude when he was below 147 and I'll call it even...although, I still question if his legs can carry him a full 12 rounds on his toes anymore. Not sure when the last time he has done that. Maybe Baldomir, but I would have to check that fight again because I fell asleep.
It's the way he has been fighting compared to the way he used to (when I liked him), that I say he is past his best. He has done nothing to say he is that same exact talent.
What I don't get with Floyd either (given Roger is his trainer), is how Roger allows him to get away from the jab in exchange for the lead-right hand?
Or where are the combos I used to see?
Or being up on your toes and moving around?
Is it the hands that limit the punch-out-put?
Is it the weight that limits the leg movement?
Floyd even admitted in an interview that he has become more cautious now than before (when he was younger) because of his kids. That's the mental side of the game and that is part of your "prime" ability. Mental will affect physical and vice-versa.
Of course, I'll be called a nuthugger again from the fans that don't like him or don't want to think about the entire subject or ever pay attention to what my complaints have been about Floyd...but, I expect nothing less.
mark my words guys and gals. i predicted this a long time ago, and still will now. floyd mayweather will not lose, period. he trains all year round, boxing is a sport that he was born into, and losing he will not do, because he never stops training. i know this for a fact. the man retired physically from the sport, seeing how he's not fighting now, but mentally, boxing never left him, and he has trained in some capacity. he is a gym rat, and has always been, trust me, i know everything about his work ethic. he never stopped training, he always runs at least 4 miles to keep his stamina up. his work ethic is crazy. he stays in shape and he does spar privately. remember, we rarely see his sparring, but he spars, trust me against bigger guys, at least middleweight and super middleweight. he won't lose...trust me..............

He'll never fight Cotto or SSM. If he fights anybody it'll be Pac. If Pac were to win, I'd definitely give him mass cred cuz at 140 and especially 147 I'd pick PBF to knock him the **** out.
What he said

I said a while back I didn't think Floyd was at his best anymore and people wanted to say it was excuses....so there you go.
I posted videos from fights of his he had from 130-140 to show the difference but most don't care to pay attention. I also mentioned the interviews with Floyd and how he Mentally changed as a fighter and wouldn't take the risks he used to in the ring. Another sign of decline because the Mental side to your game is a part of it.
I think most think as long as you are winning and are still considered "young" you must be still at your best but I don't define it like that. If I see you were better then, than now, and you don't reverse the course, it shows me you are no longer at your best.
Add all that to the long layoff, and what do you have?
Physically, Floyd is what he is now and we will have to add in the layoff. Like Freddie Roach even said, "You cannot be a part time fighter."
Mentally however, you may be able to get it back because George Foreman was able to. You need that hunger, that motivation, that purpose to prove yourself. Does Floyd still have that or is it all about the Green now?
The fact that he has retired twice and he has continued to talk about burn out is good enough for me.
He should stay retired if he cannot fight like he used to.
The guy has always been and will always be a gym rat. Thats why he is so good, i admire him but dislike him but dont be stupid enough to think he has not been keeping himself in shape whilst he has been retired. He lives and breathes the sport wether he like it or not he will do some sort of training every day

Who cares. It will make Mayweather haters stop hating and Mayweather nuthuggers stop being squirrels. Everyone can continue life and the real Mayweather fans will still be Mayweather fans.
Damn damn damn I predicted the KO I SHOULD HAVE BET YOU! Always betting on the younger man Tua, when will you learn to have faith in your fellow geezers?
the prediction looked good for the 1st half of the fight......
underestimated jmm's power and/or overestimated diaz's chin.
jmm is starting to show his age. the jmm from last year would have not gotten hit so much by diaz.
yea dont sleep on marquez power...i knew he would beat diaz, but i thought it would be by decision not by ko
he really gained a lot of power moving up to 135.
or maybe he emphasizes it more since his speed and skills are deteriorating.
If Mayweather loses it will be like the apocalypse on these boards. 40 days and nights of Floyd hate threads.
i just couldnt agree more, and the guy is STILL retired....and he dominates 2/3 of the threads and havent fought since december of '07
