Because of some bullshit reason, its gonna be on ESPN Classic which doesn't even reach nearly a third of households which ESPN reaches. Then they're gonna replay it later in the day on ESPN2. Another bullshit move towards boxing by the geniuses at ESPN.
Thats right ESPN should lose millions in revenue so a few people in America who are actually intrested in this fight can watch it. Pfft!!!
This fight was meant to be free on regular espn, now they just gave a big **** you to the boxing-world. And you stick up for them... Nice, idiot.
I know you explained that already, it still doesn't stop me at being pissed at espn. Atleast they could make epsn-classic free for that time period slot so the fans of boxing wouldn't get screwed.

This sucks! in Canada we have ESPN Classic but it's not the US version. Our shit ass ESPN Canada is'nt playin it.
You and I are both screwed, we got to watch this on a stream. Atleast I'm praying someone is kind enough to stream this fight for us.
It starts at 6PM ET (3PM PT) and will be shown live on ESPN Classic.
Don't they realize like 50 percent of the boxing fans don't have espn classic because my shitty comcast provider stopped carrying it and now wants you to buy a sports package to have espn classic?
I hope this fights really good and vitali puts a beating on gomez, because I'm stuck watching this on a stream because theres no way I won't watch a vitali fight not live. Disgusting how my provider had it before but now wants you to pay 1.99 a month for a sports package to have it.
**** ESPN. ESPN 1, the same network that airs world series of poker on that network occasionally
Seriously. They're showing Cheerleading Championships on that shit right now. CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel for you cats......I really do......I don't know how they doin' the time thing in America but in Germany its on LIVE at 10:05 pm on RTL.......all I know is that its a 6 hour time difference between Germany and the East Coast.......so if the fight is comin' on ESPN classic LIVE.... it should be around 4 pm EST.
....I was looking at the start times and thinking the same thing. I wonder just how "live" it will be. I know I won't go anywhere near the computer between 4-6 tomorrow.
wait you have to pay for classic now i get why your so pissed at
My cable provider is Comcast, we used to get espn classic for free but not anymore... I don't know why, like the package changed some how. I'm sure if I had another cable provider I'd probably be seeing it.

What i don't understand is how comes the states has to pay for ESPN classic and England doesn't, or is it a different channel in the programs it shows? cos te fight is not on ESPN classic over here, any idea what channel it IS on?
I think it has to do with what packages you have, I used to get epsn classic for free with Comcast... But now all of a sudden they want me to pay for it. The package I get we got hbo, showtime, and starz channels from comcast.

It is a timing issue. The window on ESPN was 5-6:30 pm ET. The Germans agreed with that. A few days ago when everyone was going over things in a production meeting the Germans said the fight wouldn't be able to fit in that window and since ESPN has a contractual obligation to start its coverage of the NCAA wrestling championships at 6:30

What I'm really pissed about is how espn doesn't know how to organize shit right and put it on a paid espn channel. When it was suppose to be on a free espn channel live. It got booted off free espn because of some gay wrestling shit that no one watches?

Why do they want us to pay money for espn classic? Are they retarded? Not even a rich asshole would buy that shit. It probably is free in some ppls packages but why did us Comcast people get screwed? It used to be free on comcast now I magically have to pay money to have espn classic.

A few days ago when everyone was going over things in a production meeting the Germans said the fight wouldn't be able to fit in that window and since ESPN has a contractual obligation to start its coverage of the NCAA wrestling championships at 6:30, the fight had to move to Classic, which could accomodate it live. Nobody at ESPN is happy about it, but the promoters brought it on themselves by making one promise when they made the deal and then not being able to deliver on the fighters being in the ring at a certain time. And since ESPN is not the primary broadcaster (i.e. the ones paying a ton of money for it), it had no legs to stand on to insist it go at a certain time. So it's on Classic live and that's the way it is. Be happy it's at least there.
