......."im not gonna let boxing retire me, im gonna retire from boxing."
thats what you said back in 2007 when you ko'd LIGHTwelterweight little ricky hatton. so now you got the irs behind your back and you need a money tune-up fight? (you want ppv money for a hbo wcb fight). leave those lightweights alone and come play with the big boys at 147. mosley and cotto will get you what you want, a money fight. marquez cant get you as much as mosley and cotto and the other lightweights are busy in may.
so man up and come for the green belt you left behind when you refused to defend it against cotto, marg, mosley etc. you cant come back now after you said you accomplished what you wanted in boxing and had nothing to prove, on top of that completely avoid the best division in boxing 147
so be a man and come after these guys......

to get your green belt back but you have to defend it vs mosley and/or cotto. no hate, this is serious floyd. prove to the world your an atg.
Exactly screw these little guys go after cotto
If Arum and Mayweather are going to stop acting like bickering children and put their differences aside, it'll probably be for a Pacquiao fight, not Cotto. Mayweather-Pacquiao is a bigger fight.
Then again, Cotto and Arum are having problems, so maybe they will split.
Fighters usually fight on too long because they need the money, it's what they are best at, and they miss the thrill.
For DLH, well yeah he's rich as hell, but of course money plays a role in him continuing to fight. Just because he's rich, doesn't mean he doesn't want more or isn't greedy. Rich people are often the greediest people on the planet.
Plus he has a business to run, and it's best for GBP to have him in these huge money makers.
Floyd and DLH have been boxing since they were kids. It's gotta be hard to suddenly say to yourself "okay you've made enough money, not quit this sport that you've been doing since the age of 5 or whatever, and been making millions and been in the spotlight for years".
It's a cycle you see over and over and over again in boxing.
I rarely take retirement talks seriously, unless the guy is really old or has been getting the crap beaten out of him.
Even then, I'm dubious.
i agree with you man, these guys been fighting a long time and are paid. i think oscar could of retired a couple years ago and there wouldnt be no problem. his resume speaks for itself. as for floyd he beat some very good fighters and accomplished alot but there's always questions about his resume and if he fought the best available.
thats why if he really feels he accomplished everything he wanted to accomplish and he felt he had nothing more to prove back in 2007. he should've stayed retired. he left the ww division without fighting the best available there and now he's coming back but not to fight a top ww and settle unfinished business
DLH isn't too far from being a Billionaire..he does it for the love of the sport...I truly believe he does..20-30 million ain't shit to him!..
PBF on the other hand..I believe he's run a lil short on his money..he has those bad spending habits on buying Boats, Jewelry, cars, and meaningless shit..
I think he's back in it strictly for the bank..hope it doesn't bite em in the ass at the end..he's said boxing isn't in his heart like that anymore...

Fighters always say things like that, but they can never stay away. Boxing apparently is more addicting than meth and Oxycontin.
De La Hoya promised time and time again that he'd be done with boxing by 30 and be an architect by then.

Its a tune up against the number 2 P4P, hell is wrong with you?! Not to mention JMM and Floyd are closer in size then Mayweather and Cotto
i can settle for a jmm tune up, but i think a berto fight would be better.

yeah the number 2 p4p but a career featherweight, and a couple fights at lightweight. when was the last time floyd fought at lightweight?
