First thing people tell you when u talk about boxing

Ok so i know alot of people who use to watch boxing but don't really watch it now. What i hate is when they tell me. The best don't fight the best. Really so then i go and tell them that they do i give them examples. Vasquez vs marquez,marquez vs manny. Hatton vs floyd. Dawson vs johnson etc..... Then they tell me that its corrupted. Then i tell them yeah it might be in some ways but didn't baseball go through a roids era or bball go through a dirty ref? Also they always reply don king is corrupted well don doesn't run boxing like he use to i tell them about current promotions. Eventually they give boxing a chance and they fall in love with it. Any of u guys get these replys from people that don't know the current state of boxing? By the way boxing hasnt been this great in a long time. I really think hbo will help built boxing even more

My friends still think Tyson is the heavweight champion of the world They dont understand the difference in weightclass Most of them think that the name Pacquaio is a revamp of the 1980's classic for the xbox And Margarito is a drink and theres no telling them any difference

Their first reply is usually that there's not enough action in boxing and all they do is hold each other. Then they brag about UFC and you watch it and it's just two guys "resting" on top of each other trying to think of old people ****ing so they don't pop a boner. :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Every time I start a conversation about boxing with a non boxing fan, all I ever hear is that they watched the last DLH fight and how it sucked and because of that they won't watch boxing anymore. In their mind, boxing is only when DLH fights. I ALWAYS GET ****IN PISSED!!!!!

If they started spouting off any UFC crap or stuff about Tyson, I would just tell them "Ssshhhhh!" and make them watch Vazquez-Marquez II, Corrales-Castillo I, Katsidis-Earl, Bowe-Golota II, Gatti-Ward I and Pac-Marquez I & II all in succession without letting them even go for a piss. Yeah, a boxing hostage situation. Some people have to fuckin LEARN.

I know what you mean. Ever tried explaining to a non boxing fan how the champions work? Explaining how their are 4 recognized major boxing organizations that each recognize their own world champion and how their are other lower tier organizations that do the same, but a popular boxing magazine recognizes a linear champion of the champions. Its not a fun conversation to have. WORD that's very diffucult to explain..by the way that girl in ur avatar looks like chad dawson with a hat(the face)

Barely any of my friends are proper Boxing fans but Football (Soccer) fans God help you, Spacey. I can't stand football nor listen to people talk about it. As for the thread question, I guess I'm lucky because I have some good friends and an older brother to regularly talk boxing with. We have decent, in-depth conversations. Also, sometimes I talk boxing with my girlfriend, she occasionally asks about it. Oddly enough, she's smarter than about 90% of BoxingScene members! Har har. Talking with the average person on the street though, I find they know pretty much nothing.
