This fight was in MSG Nov/07..in Cotto's backyard..
Now many people yell "hometown victory" others have claimed the win as legit and would've went the same at any other venue..
What do you guys think?
It doesn't make a difference where they fought (or will fight). There IS such things in boxing as CLOSE fights. Not everyone has to win by KO or with a 117-111 decision for people to be totally convinced.
The simple fact that you even mention them fighting on neutral ground is a cop out because the only other places where a Mosley rematch would be made are in Vegas or California...and you're telling me those aren't Mosley's hometowns? Either way, it doesn't matter. Both fighters looked good, but Cotto had the upper hand overall...end of story.
SoCal is mosley's hometown.
vegas is neutral ground. mosley's fanbase is not that big that it will effect the fight. if anything, there will be more boriquas in the crowd in vegas than mosley fans.
I agree that it don't matter, so let's see the rematch in vegas.
are we judging boxing matches based on boxer's faces after the fight now?
vegas is neutral. its closer to california, but mosley's fanbase isn't that big anyways.
Now you're just buggin...
all i'm saying is that it was a close fight and i'm ok with cotto gettting the decision in msg. now let's see them fight on neutral ground.
then a fight on neutral ground should be no problem for you.

I know you don't think Vegas is "neutral" right?
Cotto beat Mosley convincingly. You could see it on Shane's face... He knows he was losing and knows he lost.

Why do you keep holdin on to that? LOL...so you're basically blaming MSG for Mosley's loss.

Cotto OUTLANDED Mosley from rounds 9-11 and landed the more significant shots.
I don't see what the issue is. Let it go dude lol

cotto was running in that last 3 rounds. he got the W, so that's cool. but he must rematch mosley on neutral ground.

i personally scored the fight as a draw though i was not mad when i heard the decision , close fight but one thing is mosely def did not win draw at best. had cotto not ran away for the last few rounds and won at least one of them, he could have won without any debate.
I had it 115-113 Cotto. Could see an outside argument for a draw, but no way did Shane win and he needs to quit whining about where a rematch would take place. It takes place where fans will attend - oddly enough, the last time Shane could claim to be a draw was in the late 90's/early 00's, and it was on the East Coast, in fact The Theatre (below the Garden). Any card these days where he's on the A-side of the billboard (v. collazo, v. Mayorga, etc), crickets can be heard.
18 idiots who clearly don't know how to score a fight. Like I said a thousand times Cotto was the clear winner it was a very competitive fight but not as close as many want to make it seem.
You're right.
Benji Esteves jumped-in soon as Cotto got hurt by a right hand in the 10th.
Cottosexuals are in denial about that.

it was a close fight that could've gone either way. congrats to cotto on taking the first one, now lets see them fight on neutral ground.
..but you're still insinuating it was a home town decision, otherwise you wouldn't mention anything about "Nuetral Ground"
Just say Cotto won the fight, end of story lol
Voted No. I thought it was close I would have to watch it again. ThI remember being frustrated at Mosley for not throwing uppercuts which Cotto has always been open for. I thought if he threw some he could have changed the tide of the fight. I thought the ref stopping the fight in round 10 after Mosley hurt Cotto to clean up water was BULLSHIT at the time. You wait till there is a lull in action to call time. Watch it again, that gave Cotto time to recover. Sometimes you have to watch a fight with your eyes more than your ears. Because HBO commentators will always highlight punches by the guy they are supporting which in this case would have been Cotto. His opponent could hit him with a three punch combo with Cotto throwing a punch and they will mention the punch that Cotto threw even if it was clearly blocked or missed LOL.
I dare you to show how Cotto was hurt??

So Pull let's say he does go on to beat Clottey..and wins..lets say another close decision on "neutral grounds" against Mosley...would you still hate on the guy?..can you still hate him?..lol
