But it's a pity about his defence(which is improving) and average chin.
His offensive skills are second to none.

I have NEVER seen someone be so impressive after getting absolutely smashed in a round.
After the Prescott loss, Khan was with the media the very next day, he didn't go into hiding (De La Hoya was missing for about 3 months after pacman), it takes alot of guts to confront the loss the way he did, and he's had two punch perfect displays in the ring since then.
Well done Amir Khan, noone could handle a loss like that better than you did.
No power at all? Don't be ridiculous. He doesn't have one punch KO power, but his punches are still very strong and accurate.Based on what?
Accurate yes, powerful? not at all.
Even the Gomez interview linked by Greatjoe says "he's got no power". he didn't put away Limond, Limond gassed out, He didn't hurt MAB even thought he could hardly see out of one eye and he's a Super bantamweight.
I think he is in the P4P top 10 for skills but overall he isn't due to his chin as a whole package.
Yep, that is what I was trying to get at.
It kinda came out wrong though lol
LOL... avg chin...
Some people are so obtuse it isn't even funny.
It's not china.
The biggest problem for Amir is his defence.
I'm sure there would have been quite a few fighters who would have stayed down after the first prescott knockdown. It was brutal. But Khan got up in a couple of seconds.
is amir faster or stronger than manny paquiao? he definitly does not hit harder than manny and he is no where near as good a boxer as marquez so i don't think amir needs to be any where near marquez because he will be laid the fukk out
When did I say he should fight JMM?
****ing retards on this forum, JMM would knock him the f.uck out.
People just talk about him not having power in single shots, but he doesn't need it. Fights can be stopped without power.
Pacman beating De La Hoya a perfect example, that fight was stopped because of speed, not power.
Power is overrated.
Speed can create power, speed can create knockouts.
Speed creates accumilation of punches, Khan might not have the best power, but say for every JMM punch, Khan has hit you 3 times.
It's being hit all the time that can put you off your game, and put you into a type of daze. Not only that, He is a VERY accurate fighter.
Watch from 4:45. Gomez is very true to point.

not even manny pacquiao? who took immediate rematch with erik morales and ko'd him?
manny's fight with erik was a big fight and more or less a creer defining match where as amir khan's fight with prescott was not a big deal for the most part if you are not a fan or hate amir you did not know about the prescott fight amir is not even top 10 in his division where manny and erik were arguably the #1 and # 2 in the division
I think this has come across the wrong way.
Amir Khan is a P4P fighter, if it wern't for his defensive vulnerabilities.
Thats kind of what I meant.
I disagree
he's wild, sloppy and technically flawed very deeply
he seems to have improved on it somewhat under Roach but at the cost of power and less of his punches seem to get through (cos he's throwing so much less i imagine)
and his physical attributes have always been his greatest advantage

So what you're saying is he's not and never will be a P4P fighter.
And anyway I disagree he has no power at all so wouldn't be P4P even if he had a chin.

I disagree. i don't consider superb power 2 be a trait 1 must have as a p4p ranked fighter. khany boy has the physical tools,(aside from the chin), a solid training environment and seems quick to pick up new skills. iv got a 20 quid bet with my bro that 1 day hel be in the top 5 p4p. (hes got a speedy kind of power which is effective when they coming in also =)

I hear what you are saying, if he had a solid chin I would pick him over any LW except JMM and Juan Diaz. I think he should take on a Katsidis or possibly a casamayor next to see how he could cope with the better lightweights.

As an all round fighter he's simply not P4P yet, that's crazy I'm afraid. He's not even in the top 5 of the division to be in contention for it.
I still can't help but think he's now actually for once being over rated. I could well be wrong and would have like to be.
To be fair Marco did land one ok shot on him, and Khan put his hands up to the crowd as if to show it didn't hurt and get some cheers going.
If he keeps with Roach then I will actually begin to have more faith in him, as that's clearly doing him a lot of good. Living in America seems to have matured him, made him more focused on boxing too. I do admire that tremendously I have to say, especially for a lad his age.
