I just watched the fight against simon
this guy cant take angles...throws wide punches
abraham had a "rally" in the 5th where all punches were blocked or parried
Yeah, Abraham sucks so bad that nobody has beaten him.
Until they do, I guess he's not that terrible.
Pretty hard to be beat fighting Zaghe like opposition won't u agree?
Not really. When he loses everyone will say he sucks. He's just beating the rush.
the only people that will say that are the people that can't except someone outside of the u.s actually bein a good fighter

WTF? Who do you think can beat the guy from 154 to 168? Nobody. Not Pavlik, not Sturm, not Froch, not Taylor, not PW, nobody. So, lets start using our minds before we start BS threads like this
wait, whos the third guy out of Pavlik and Abraham?
imo, if youre comparing the middleweight division to the rest of boxing, it does kind of suck. its just a bad division, plain and simple.
Abraham looks awful against fighters who smartly pressure him and try to get around his guard. he obviously has a lot of flaws. whats his saving grace? well, in terms of power hes got to be in the top 5 p4p in boxing today. he has some nasty KOs, and him hitting his opponent with his 30 second flurries sometimes legitimately wins him the round because of it.
I dont buy the 'weight drain' excuse. he looked just as bad against Elvin Ayala, and people only dont remember that because he knocked his block off in the last round. and Ayala...aint that great. hes David Banks level, or lower so since he lost to him twice.
maybe king arthur fights down to his opponents because there are plenty of fights where king arthur looks very very good.yea the middleweight division is garbage but when it comes to someone like bernard hopkins he is considered to be 1 of the greatest yet his career was made from that weak middleweight division
I think AA has somewhat limited defensive skills. His defense consists of going into the old turtle shell routine every 20 seconds or so. Then he comes out throwing wide punches and leaving himself pretty open to anything straight. Another thing he does is lunge forward which is always a recipe for getting hit. Simon didn't take any advantage of those things but a better boxer would. I agree that the MW division right now is kinda weak.
Abraham needs to move up to 168 right now. I have been trumpeting for him to beat Kelly Pavlik for a while, and from last nights outing it looked to me that Abe is killing himself to make 160. As of right now I do not think he can beat Pavlik at 160, but at 168 he would murder Pavlik.
What don't you guys understand about boxing? Pavlik fighting his mandatories,
then fighting a well known easy fighter (Mora) then one more fight then AA of Felix Sturm. The plan for Pavlik is to fight 3 times this year.
Pavlik and his team plan on having alot of title defences at 160 there not all going to be world class. Look at RJJ and BHOP
Abraham doesn't "suck" but he has many flaws. A smart boxer would beat him.
I'm not entirely confident in Pavlik beating him (pretty much 50-50 in my opinion) but Kessler probably would.
Sturm also has a chance but he (or his promoter) needs to become more confident and take the fight.
He's making weight excuses already. He's running away from 160 because he's afraid of Pavlik.
Abraham called out Pavlik after the fight, didn't he? He said making weight didn't bother him because it's what he always does.
You have no idea what you're talking about, do you?
AA paid for those wide punches by gettin' caught with a couple of flush left hooks that seemed to bother him for a second, but nothing major.....besides that, he was fighting his fight and earnin' the rounds......good performance for a guy who had to lose 15 pounds in 7 days to make weight.....props to AA!
yes he sucks so much, that a puncher could not knock him out even with a broken jaw, he sucks so much that he moved up and kicked mirandas as worse than pavlik. And miranda was considered like a monster after the banks knockout. Sure he has flaws, like a suspect stamina but too say he sucks is bullshit

Felix Stum is the third guy. As I've said earlier I find AA to be overrated on NSB. IMO it's just as true that Sturm is underrated. He's such a skilled fighter with a p4p top 3 jab.
Maybe so but the top 3 consist of very good fighters. There seem to be a gulf in class between them and the rest.

YOU suck.
Abraham doesn't...
I just watched the fight, and he wasn't as sharp, strong and confident as usual. He appeared to be seriously weight-drained.
I bet he won't be fighting at middleweight much longer, if at all.
AA said that the shedding of 8 kilos in 2 weeks didn't affect his performance, but he still acknowledges that he has to move up soon. A Pavlik fight must come soon if it shall be at 160. AA also said that that he'd be ready for Pavlik in supermiddleweight also.
I think he's pretty overrated on these boards. But that's nothing new. I definitely wouldn't say he "sucks". But I think Pavlik beats him, and does so easily. Hopefully we'll get to find out.
yeah I mean of course he doesnt "suck" persay
but the way people make him out to be and what he really is is more than a huge stretch

Unfortunatly someone told me, that he wants to fight Pavlik at MW.
Personally I think it would be better for both men to fight at 168 or atleast a catchweight.
