It's such a shame that the fight had to end in the way it did. I don't think he's as bad as he looked last night. The cut completely hindered his performance. He was losing before the cut, but he wasn't given the chance to adapt to Khan's style, he couldn't avoid his shots, couldn't pick many of his own all because of the cut.
I watched Hamed/Barrera last night before the Khan fight, and it's saddens me that someone who was as good as MAB was that night, is now struggling the way he his. He's signed a five fight contract with Don King, so I hope he has better fights to come after this..
There's no need to feel sorry for a great fighter like Barrera. Or any fighter for that matter. They know what the risks are and they still do it so instead we should commend them for their courage. It's good to empathize but feeling sorry or pity for people is kind of shitty.
He's a bum at lightweight, he looked light a midget next to khan and had zero power, even with khan's glass chin. He needs to move down a division.
he needs to retire ...
Yeah, I feel a little sorry for him; you always do when a fighter loses for that sort of reason. Particularly as the crowd gave him such a great reception; much better than Khan, and the cut obviously stopped him from fighting at his best (although it was pretty obvious even his best is unlikely to have been enough).
I thought it a little sad he was making 'head-butt' excuses afterwards, but it's not really fair to judge on someone like like in a moment like that. Even so, if he thought it should have been stopped why did he say he wanted to continue three rounds later? I suspect he had already been primed by Don King, though. It's rather pathetic; King has seen more than enough boxing to distinguish a head-butt from an accidental clash.
I dont feel sorry for him,as he showed a complete lack of class after the fight and almost sounded like Kermit"headbunt, headbunt"Cintron.
Yea, he was bitter about it, but I think justifyably so. You must admit it was a no contest after the first round..
