A conversation starter- plain and simple. Nothing more.. Eubank was gun shy and mentally defeated, as well as on the route towards the downside of his career (some argue he was already there 100%) by the time Calzaghe fought him..
Barerra has just been through too many wars.
I wonder if Khan will recede into the shadows under Warren's rule.
No it wasn't a shit-stirring post. Khan is not much like Calz besides the speed. Apology accepted..
:) Cheers.

You can compare any young up-and-comer's fight against an old legend. These things happen in boxing all the time. I am not convinced there is some great comparison to be made between Calzaghe-Eubank to Khan-Barrera. The only thing these fights have in common is Frank Warren promoted them. Again, these kind of fights happen all the time in boxing.
Was it your intention was to compare Khan to Calzaghe as a fighter, or maybe just try and stir some shit with Calzaghe fans? That's how the thread comes across. Aplogies if I misunderstood your point. ;)

The second part is academic- I'm debating the name here more than anything.
As far as the late replacement- it doesn't change the fact the Bank was chosen for his name. Even in that tight spot. It was a name fight that was considered beatable.

I disagree. There's a big difference between these two fights. Eubank was a late replacement, for starters. That fact right there proves that Eubank was never even in Calzaghe's plans. It's not like Frank Warren had some evil plot to put a big name on Calzaghe's resume.
Secondly, Eubank gave Calzaghe hell and it was a great fight.

Seeing as how I'm too lazy to consistently log on to this website, I'll agree in advance to everything K-Nan says in the next 2 weeks.
That usually works. Lol...
