Nobody really rates Joe's win over Eubank.
Eubank never was 2-5 before he faced Calzaghe, and if i am correct was training to fight for CW. Not to mention he lost his next 2 bouts to Carl Thomson. He was Shot by then.
Blatant lies. Nobody rates it? Are you out of your mind? I always said it is one of his best wins. Take everything into account -- even a slightly older version of Eubank (31) was a huge step up for a young Joe Calzaghe. Eubank had twice as much experience, and most importantly, he was still a very strong, dangerous fighter as proven by the fact that he gave Joe hell for 36 minutes.
I had Eubank winning the first Thompson fight. The second one was stopped due to damage to his right eye. Before the damage occurred, I seem to remember him being competitive, though. Thompson is quite underrated. He was a very tough fighter. Who was Haye's sole loss to? Ah yes, Thompson. An older version, at that.
You are incorrect, by the way -- Eubank had a fight at 175 planned, not Cruiserweight. He dropped 7 pounds back down to 168 with a couple of weeks notice to fight Calzaghe, so admittedly the preparation wasn't ideal, however, losing 7 pounds in 2 weeks should not be a huge problem for most fighters, and it wasn't unusual for Chris to make weight close to a fight anyway.
Eubank was not "shot", he was NEVER shot. I wish you would stop lying.
Eubank was a GREAT win for JC. End of story.

Like someone said, depends how Barrera looks. He is not shot, but he is passed it. One can argue it may be a Hatton-kosta tszyu
I dont know. I didnt know A win over Eubank was a big deal.
Eubank was a great fighter in his prime but even though he was past prime when he fought calzaghe, calzaghe was green so their experience levels cancelled each other out. So yes, it was quite a big deal. Probably his best win after kessler, hopkins, lacy
No, because Barrera is way past his prime, perhaps shot, after all his wars.
Eubank was only 31, and had not been in nearly so many tough fights. He didn't appear to be past prime or shot at all in the fight with Calzaghe.
Like I said before, Eubank wasn't shot against Joe, but he was not prime, no-where near. He made a good fight of it but put the Joe who was in the ring that night with a prime Eubank and Eubank wins. Prime for prime, I'd give it to Joe, he was still pretty green when he took on Eubank.
On another note, I cant see Khan ever getting good enough to be concidered good enough to beat a Barrera prime for prime in a mythical p4p match up.

nah i dont think it can rate as highly as hatton-tszyu, tszyu was coming off a destruction of sharmba mitchell and was rated highly pound for pound.
If Khan beats Barrera, would the win be considered as good as Joe Calzaghes win over Eubank
No chance . Calzaghe ended up 46-0 . Khan just got ko'd in the first round off a complete unknown .

No, but not for the reason stated in the poll, MAB isn't shot.
MAB is a super bantamweight not a lightweight and even in his hayday would have struggled to cope with the size of someone like Khan.
Eubank went on to push a very game CW champion to the limit twice, I had Eubank winning the first fight and well ahead when he was stopped in the second.
depends on how MAB looks.
Eubank was well past his best was still put up a good fight.
MAB is obv. past his best, but if he fights like Oscar v Pac then Khan gets little credit, if he gives Khan a good fight then he should get as much credit as Joe for the Eubank win
Thats a bog IF though. This really could go either way.
