this is for the ~ interim WBA featherweight title ~
Predictions?
PS- This was the guy who was supposed to face gamboa before al seeger took the fight with gamboa
agreed in everything. juanma vs gamboa will be fight of the year with juanma ko gamboa in 4rds if he continues to fight like that. and i know that gamboa is facing better opponents that chavez jr.
Don't get too delusional, Juanma by TKO 10th round.
Nope, don't try to turn it around, of course you were talking about Chavez, but you were saying they were doing the same thing with Gamboa, and I quote you : "maybe they are trying to do it like chavez jr....fighting bums until they have like 50 fights."
Hence, my:
1. He has 14 fights. (how can you compare the 14 medium quality fights from Gamboa with the low quality 50 fights of Chavez?)
2. He is fighting for a world title, why would he fight anyone else? (if they give him a bum for a world title, how will he refuse it?)
Anyway, don't take it personal. But you understand my point... He is receiving a belt as a gift, which I personally don't like, but it is a wise decision since he'll be able to unify vs a real champ right after, and then the real fights are coming (juanma moving up in weight challenging gamboa would be my boxing fan dream).

no sir, no offense, but look like u are. we were talking about chavez jr.

Are u dumb? No offense but:

2. He is fighting for a world title, why would he fight anyone else?
As I said, no offense, just the first impression I had...

gamboa have a lot of speed/skills/pop BUT if he continue fighting w/o defense he's gonna get ko pretty soon.

Gamboa is (according to BoxRec) #5 ranked in the World as a featherweight.
I would love to see him fight Jorge Solis before he fights Chris John.

Gamboa should win this one: he is a massive talent, Rojas is an older fighter and should be pretty rusty coming in.
What I am really interested in seeing is whether or not Yuri gets dropped in this one, or fights with a more disciplined attitude when its for the a bigger prize.

Thanks for proving my point MORON
from ESPN.COM rankings.
4. Elio Rojas (20-1)
With titleholder Oscar Larios sidelined because of a cut in his last fight on Oct. 16, mandatory challenger Rojas was supposed to face 2004 Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa (12-0) for the vacant belt. However, Gamboa's handlers are understandably having second thoughts and looking in another direction.
Next: TBA.

They had an agreement to fight. Gamboa decided to go another direction and fight someone else.
Call it what you wanna call it.
I ve seen rojas, he is very skill, he have decent pop and very qucik hands, and slick. They didnt want to risk Gamboa, because at this stage, with Gamboas wildness, Rojas UDs him. This is just about styles and experience, and Rojas is a bit ahead of Gamboa, not saying he is a better fighter, but is at the same level.
i love the boxrec guys, hahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!:buttkick:
agree 100%, this guys just boxrec'd Rojas and thinks he knows everything about em lol.
Rojas is exteremely talented, and I don't recall ever seeing him lose a round. Him and Gamboa were supposed to face off and Gamboa backed out. Now he's fighting some other guy with the last name Rojas.

That's wierd, Rojas UD'd Johnnie Edwards and Gamboa KO'ed him in the 1st round.
He won all 10 rounds easily and Edwards was never in the fight. Gamboa knocked him up. Different styles. Both dominated him in their own ways. Gamboa in a much more entertaining and electrifying way. But that still means nothing and tells us nothing about how it would be if Rojas and Gamboa fought.
stop with the boxrec.
