Man Ortiz makes me feel like I'm watching Vargas all over again

the only thing I see in common is they're both from La Colonia, different styles, stance, personality, times and level of opposition. Back then Vargas was fighting Campas, Ortiz just fought Arnaoutis.

I was a big fan of Vargas because of his aggressive nature and because he was willing to fight everyone!!! It's too bad he didnt have the greatest work ethic, i think that ruined him a lot more than the trinidad fight. ive never really bought that trinidad "ruined" Vargas. roids and his diet killed his body as much as tito fight taking a lot out of him.

Ortiz doesnt remind me of Vargas much, style wise. A few simularities, but not much. Vargas had already been through two wars against Wright and Quartey at Ortiz's present age unless Im getting the dates wrong. Ortiz is being brought up much slower, and so far has taken almost no punishment in his pro career. and hey, even if Ortiz 'only' turns out to be another Vargas...is that really such a bad thing? despite the shortness of Vargas's career, he accomplished a hell of a lot, and gave us some outstanding fights against top level fighters.

:sad: ........................ I LOVED VArgas!!!!!!!!!!!! It's still surprising you had people that hated him. He was everything this sport needed! He was exactly what you would call a warrior! He had the heart as big as jupitor! I think you will find most people enjoyed vargas, he had a very large fan base!!!!! I don't think we will EVER see anyone fight champions and the type of contenders he did so early in their careers. A fuken young vargas gave tito a hell of a fight!!!! Tito low blowed his way to safety!!! That's probably the most exciting fight that division has ever had. Vargas also gave dlh fits the whole fight until the final two rounds! I think one judge even had vargas winning or tied don't quite remember. Vargas was a savage! I think the people that hated him were just people jealous or people that envy him. They see a macho attitude and think "fuk that guy" "I'm more mach than him" or some stupid shit along those lines. Vargas-like fighters are what we need, now a days these fukers pad their resumes, trying too look pretty! Duck left and right, retire early in fear of losing.

i never liked vargas. odlh khtfo was one of the greatest moments in oscar's career for me. that said......fernando had some skills and heart. i wouldn't mind victor being like that. hopefully with a better chin and age better though......

yep, if ortiz is brought along correctly he will be a better version of vargas. if ortiz's handlers move him too fast liek ortiz fans want, he will get ruined just like vargas... believe it.
