john duddy in my opinion has the ability to become the best irish boxer of all time now that he has sorted himself out, duddy has it all now, where before he fought like rocky now he actually has a solid jab and a handy enough defence, he is has not fought alot in the last while with cuts and contract problems but i feel the next few years duddy will prove he is world class...
Looking forward to Dunne Cordoba in a fortnight .

The guy in your sig had the potential to be the best Irish fighter of all time
Such a ****ing waste of talent and life.
For the record isn't Duddy from Derry?
That's NI.
Duddy is a Brit..............lol. A can of worms opens.
My parents are from County Kerry in case I get lambasted.
But yeah Limerick boy Lee would Knock Duddy out. **** knows what happened vs Vera,
duddy is no brit would you stop, he wears the shamrock and carries the tri colour down, thats no brit!!!!
na this cleary does not count irish americans cause that would then include
nearly every white american boxer, actually even ali claimed his great granny was irish,
i know he is not the greatest yet but if he goes on to beat pevlic and a few other big names i think he could be
Yeah you're right, but I guess he's part of the contingent who refuse to believe that they are actually in the UK. He does everything he can to say he's from Ireland and get the Irish flag out there (like Martin Rogan is doing).
Like Eamonn Magee used too as well.
It makes not difference really. Though belonging to the republic is probably more marketable especially in America.

Does Jimmy McLarnin count? He was born in Northern Ireland as was John Duddy.
Read up on his resume, he went from beating Pancho Villa at bantamweight to knocking out the reigning welterweight champion in one round.
This should be called ''John Duddy, Most popular irish fight now?''. Wayne McCullough is the best or maybe just my favorite. I think James Moore and Lee are better fighters, Johns exciting to watch but best ever? I hope not.
Are we counting Irish Americans? In which case Duddy doesnt even make the top 20.
James Corbett
Jack Dempsey
Jack Dempsey (Nonpareil)
Billy Conn
Steve Collins
Tommy Lughran
Mike & Tommy Gibbons
Irish Bob Murphy
Johnny Kilbane
Terry McGovern
Tommy Ryan
Barry McGuigan
Gene Tunney
Paddy Duffy
Mickey walker
John L Sullivan
It really doesn't say much about our boxing that Duddy can be considered by people our best ever boxer. Hopefully Sutherland is the future :boxing:
Rinty Monaghan was the world flyweight champion in the 40's when there was only one world title. And of course Steve Collins must get a nod.
Calestino Caballero is boxrec's best no.1 superbantamweight in the world and cordoba's beat him , so it'll be a hard night for Dunne but I hope he produces the performance of a lifetime with all his fans behind him

yeah should be a good fight alright, egan is gone on a mad one and pulled out haha, bit of fame and he loses the plot wha?? how do you think dunne will get on??
I think if he digs deep he might he be able to get a decision but it'll be a hard night for him because Cordoba is a world class opponent ,he has never been stopped and the only loss on his record is a split decision . If he avoids the big punches I think he'll do alright
