Roach: "pacquiao's father ate his pet dog"

There's a difference between killing and eating a dog, and killing and eating a dog that a kid has grown attached to. That said the whole eating thing has to do with cultures. Pigs can make good house pets themselves, and are said to be pretty intelligant as well. Although the dog has been a domesticated animal for years.

Many cultures around the world eat dog. I don't see it as any different than eating all the other kinds of disgusting things people eat around the world. If I was starving though, I would BBQ Benji in a second though... If it's a life or death situation, sure. But eating them just for the sake of it seems rather pointless. I know in certain parts of the World dogs are not looked upon with the same affection as they are in the west. It's just one of those things. Dogs are, for the most part domesticated animals and play a very important role in the lives of millions and millions of people. I think there was a dog that even won a medal of honour. The people who keep them in cages and skin them alive are sick bastards, and there's absolutely no excuse for it. I'm by no means an ignorant person, and realise there's different cultures, but that nonsense needs to be stamped out.

By john benz This has to be one of the most vile, disgusting things I have reported on. In a recent article by the Telegraph UK, Freddie Roach tells scribe Gareth A. Davies about a horrible incident from Pacquiao's childhood. Roach tells the publication that as a young boy, Pacquiao ran away from home after he found out his own father had eaten his pet Dog! Yes, that's right, Pacquiao's father, as disgusting as it sounds, ate Pacquiao's dog. Talk about child abuse. WTF! Roach confided to the publication: "Manny ran away from home after his father ate his dog, and he lived on the street, where he bought doughnuts at a doughnut store and then sold each one for a nickel more to survive." That is some sick sh!t. One can only imagine just how hard it was for Pacquiao to fight his way out of poverty. Poverty is awful, but I also feel very sorry for Pacquiao after reading what his father did to his beloved pet. Stuff like that when growing up, must stay with one forever. The kind of wound that probably will never heal. I dont think pac wanted peaple to know about that. I'm sure thats why Pac is so ferocious in the ring. Once you fight your way out the gutter you don't ever want to go back----------

I remember hearing about this a while ago. Its true that some cultures eat dog however, its one thing to eat a dog because you have nothing else to eat and an other to eat it for the sake of eating it. Poor Pacman is scared for life.
