Out of todays current prospects, meaning below or around 20 fights with no title belt of any kind, who makes the p4p rankings first?
Not gonna list any names, don't want to slant people in any direction.
Discuss.
getting a title its extremely easy seriously with the right promoter anyone can be a world champ look at that maliggnaggi guy
even if they are world champs it doesnt make the guys proved
the ring p4p is usually impressed by defense so ima say that dirrel guy with that speed
btw kirkland is taking a big step up against julio is a very risky fight he can lose
I didn't mean that it was the sign that you made it. However, for the guys at 122 and above, once you get a title, you can get bigger money fights. You're treated like a champion, atleast in a lot of ways with a lot of people.
Doesn't mean or have anything to do with your skills. But, that's how the sport is. You know?
although what u are saying is true, its pretty clear that you forgot about marvin hagler, who also had poor defense, but didnt fail to make all p4p lists. you also forgot about roy jones (who is far more skilled than kirlkland no doubt) who defense was offese..... we all saw what happened the first time roy got hit flushed...
my point is what kirkland does works. we will just have to wait n see what happens.....
daniel jacobs will probably make the list first to answer the thread starters question
What are you talking about? Did you only see Hagler's last 3 fights?
Jones' defense was his offense? The f-cker even spent time clowning and not getting hit, sometimes without even feinting a punch. Those are called reflexes.
I'm gonna say it'll be between Victor Ortiz or Juanma Lopez

I think Andre Dirrell could make the top 10. He's a guy who doesn't get hit a lot and can (as he's shown recently) get entertaining when the fight happens.
Also, Victor Ortiz, but I wont go into that, everyone else has.
Danny Jacobs is a guy I'm really starting to believe in. Also, still Andy Lee, I think he has enough to come back, and more than likely avenge the loss to Vera, pretty impressively.
Also, Abner Mares, if he ever gets a GODDAMN fight.
And Id like to point out Kirkland. People have that guy all wrong, he simply hasnt proven he has what it takes to be an elite fighter, Id like to see what happens when he fights someone who he cant KO that will fight back for 12 rounds.
Lopez doesnt qualify he is a titlist.
Whatever, those "titles" are BS anyway. Israel Vazquez is the Champion, Juanma is a semi proven contender at best.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree to a certain extent, but the skill/class level between Hagler/Jones and Kirkland is very apparent. Another aspect also is patience. Kirkland would much rather overwhelm with power than place his punches methodically.
Kirkland will have the same issues that Angulo will experience when he faces a great boxer. I'm kind of hoping they both get thrown in with a slickster so that IF they lose, they lose now instead of when they're hype is at a peak and they will be written off because of their loss.
his defense wont allow it, but gamboas lack of discipline will? It just seems pretty wierd that a guy that has tasted too much canvas in uder 20 fights is more likely to be #1p4p....
Even though he's tasted the canvas more than Kirkland, his offensive attributes are incredible. I have this suspicion that he relaxes his defensive because of the quality of his opposition. I'm sure when he faces championship quality opposition, his defense will be tighter. He slips and ducks punches a lot too.
Kirkland on the other hand, is a straight up pressure fighter who's defense is his offense. He has been hit a lot in his past fights. Even against a slow punching Vera who telegraphs his punches, he was getting hit cleanly.
Kirland and Angulo are guys I can see in the top 10, but not in the top 3.
