The way these boards are reacting to a possible
PBF vs. JMM or PBF vs.Pacquaio or PBF vs. Hatton fight…
You would think Floyd was a career welterweight…When he was a weltherweight he was the smallest one in the division…Can somebody name 1 welterweight Floyd was bigger than when he was in the division..???
So When people say Floyd needs to beat a real WW and stop fighting on smaller guys?
They say that like Floyd 1st or 2nd division was WW and he has been fighting Small guys his whole Career....
Context
The WW Division
Cotto's: 2nd Division
Margarito's: 2nd Division
Shane Mosley: 3rd Division
Andre Berto: 2nd Division (1st:160)
Joshua Clottey:1st Division
Kermit Cintron: 1st Division
Paul Williams:2nd Division (1st:160)
CarlosQuintana:1st Division
Floyd Mayweather 4th Division
If you say Mayweather has grown into the Welther weight division even though that is his 4th Division
PLease Answer this Direct Question:
1.If Mayweather Has grown into a Natural WW, What Have the Other Fighters who have been in the WW division Grown into if that is their 1st or 2nd Division..?
or do you think that Mayweather is the only fighter who Grows in the Division?
(w.a.w)= Walk around Weight
Floyd Mayweather 4th Division (w.a.w) = 150
Cotto's: 2nd Division (w.a.w) = 170
Margarito's: 2nd Division (w.a.w) = 174
Shane Mosley: 3rd Division (w.a.w) = 165
Andre Berto: 2nd Division (w.a.w)= 164
Joshua Clottey:2nd Division (w.a.w)= 170
Kermit Cintron: 1st Division (w.a.w)= 160-162
Paul Williams:2nd Division(w.a.w)= 165
Carlos Quintana:1st Division(w.a.w)= 163
Goggle: Fighter Name Walk around Weight
Floyd Mayweather seem like the only unnatural ww in the division to me...when he was their... and the smallest...
So what is this obession with him fighting guys in a division which is his 4th and it is their first of 2nd.. If he never cared for the division, and that is not his natural weight?
90% of Mayweather career has been at 135 and under...90% !!!!
what does that meaned to you guys????
Floyd vs. Pacquaio are closer in Size then 98% of the welterweight division
Floyd vs. Hatton are closer in Size 98% of the welterweight division
Floyd vs. JMM are closer in Size 98% of the welterweight division
So you can say that you think that Floyd is too skilled for fighters his own size..but please dont say he should fight real ww's, when he himself is not a real welterweight...!! 90% career proves that!!
Why is that Mosely& Cotto can call out Pacquaio and Hatton but Floyd can't?
Why cant Floyd fight people his own size and even smaller then him when he himself is a small dude fighting bigger dudes all the time is my point...
People get mad because I apply the standards on other fighters that they apply to Floyd...but my whole thing is dont be a hypocrite.
If you think it is Cool for Pacquaio to fight Hatton...Then you should think it's Cool For Pacquaio to fight Floyd...
Bacause Floyd has unfinished business with Cotto and Mosley. He avoided Cotto when he was clearly the number 1 fight for him out there, the fight everyone wanted to see. Cotto and Mosley have fought and will fight anyone that's put in front of them. Mayweather will duck anyone and look for the easiest fight.
Once Again,
I have no problem with floyd fighting Other WW's...
my problem is that People saying he can ONLY fight Welterweights for it to be a fair fight, when he himself is not really a welterweight compare to the rest of the welterweights...
do you get my point...?
Did you have a problem with Middleweight Hopkins Fighting a jr.middleweight De La hoya at the time instead of a top middleweight
Did you have problem with A jr. Middleweight Oscar De La Hoya Fighting a small welterweight in Mayweather at the time instead of a top jr.middleweight
Did you have problem with Middleweight Marvin Hagler Fighting a jr. Middleweight in Thomas Hearns at the time instead of a top middleweight
Why is that Mosely& Cotto can call out Pacquaio and Hatton but Floyd can't?

If you think it is Cool for Pacquaio to fight Hatton...Then you should think it's Cool For Pacquaio to fight Floyd...
If you think It's cool for Floyd to fight Paul Williams, then you should think it's cool for Floyd to fight somebody has tremendous physical advnatages over...
You get my point.... DONT MAKE SPECIAL RULES for Floyd and not everybody else. thats been my problem from day 1.
LOL dude I have no time in the day to keep going back and forth.
I believe if you were the reigning Welterweight champ and you retire and comeback to fight at that weight it should be against the tops of that division and right now it's Cotto and Mosley. Both are intriguing fights and fights the entire Boxing world would wait on pins and needles to see it. You being a Floyd fan should be thrilled that fights of that stature are still a possibility, yet you pull up irrelevant facts about Floyd that have nothing to do with what he should and will do in the foreseeable future (so we hope).
I'm done
Floyd/Cotto and Floyd/Mosley size up pretty even imo and those are the fights people want to see. Floyd/Pac is a great fight after what Pac did with dlh, who fought at or around 154 for a couple of years.
My shit is, I like Floyd as a fighter. I never discredit what he's done because a lot of fighters to come won't accomplish what he did. But the problem I have is the mentality that his Pinnacle was at 130-135. He didn't go to Welterweight like Roy did to heavyweight. Floyd Competed at Welterweight
But the whole issue with him not being a "real" Welterweight compared to guys like Cotto or Mosley is simply a cop out. The dude was THE recognized Welterweight champion of the World. He even skipped up a few pounds to fight Oscar at 154. So obviously weight is not an issue here whatsoever. Cotto and Mosley both easily make 146-147, and so does Floyd.
Like I said before man, it ain't rocket science LOL.
The thing that bothers me the most is that he took the WW division hostage. He saw his opportunity with Baldo took the belts and then he wouldn't fight any top 5 welters. Or for that matter any real welters, he held the belts for ramsom, took the easiest fights available and then when the heat was on for him to fight a real WW ran for his life.
Are seriously trying to nitpick Marvin Hagler & Bernard Hopkins resumés? LMAO!
NO MAN...
HES JUST U KNOW..
DOING HIS THING

But you're missing the entire point and it's that at the end of the day, FLOYD IS A WELTERWEIGHT RIGHT NOW. Floyd has won and defended a WELTERWEIGHT title or better yet the recognized Welterweight title at the time (WBC strap). If you measure how Cotto and Pacquiao both train to make the 147 limit, of those 2 who do you think parallels Floyd in preparation to make 147?
So let me ask you this, who has the size advantage in a fight with both Cotto and Floyd and Mosley and Floyd? Are you saying both Cotto or Mosley may be too much?

DOUBLE STANDARDS
Here comes captain Horus with his usual bump of his shit threads. Looks like Mayweather is trying to follow DLH footsteps, maybe Floyd's bitchass will get the same result as DLH.

Contrary to popular belief I have no problem with floyd fighting Other WW's...

If you know EVEN if your right people are still going to say your wrong and your not gonna change anyones mind? Why even both taking the time to goggle fighters walk around weight and go into it that much?
It's amazing people here try to defend Floyd's record at 147 then turn around and use weight as an excuse for him not fighting welters. Strange...
what are you talking about???
#1 I've just checked its not the Jennings fight, but its one of his WW fights. On the HBO broadcast they state his fight night weight and its 155.
#2 I've already replied to that post.
#3 Read RL_GMAs post again:
The whole fact of the matter is that Floyd's already had several fights at Welterweight, won and defended the title and it's the last weight he fought at before retiring. Whatever weight he's fought at before is in the past. What matters now is who he fights AT Welterweight if he does continue to fight.
I see the points you're trying to make, but to me it just seems like you're making excuses for Floyd fighting a JMM or Pacquiao over Cotto or Mosley simply because of their size when its obvious Floyd can perform at top level at 147. Roy Jones is a good example of a dude just going to Heavyweight to take a title and bowing out from that division. Floyd was fighting at Welterweight for enough time before he retired to call him a legit Welterweight, so the obvious thing for him to do is to compete with the other Welterweights there. It ain't rocket science...
That is my stance.

His Uncle Roger said he walks around at 165 and he came in at 150 against Oscar.
you still havent reply to this post
How doesnt coming in 20 pounds over the offical weight limit doesnt give the other fighter a advantage.
What’s more important????
What the Fighters weighs before the fight ???
or
What the Fighter weighs at the time of the fight???
The reason that weight classes exist at all is to ensure a fair fight. Fair and safe competition begins with the requirement that the two men facing each other are the same size in terms of weight.
Imagine if we had same day weigh in's...
Like Larry Merchent said:
"Ultimately what will happen is that fighters will start to fight at a weight that is more natural for them, instead of cheating the system"
If Fighters knew that they would not have more than a day to replenish thier body, they would not have pretended to be a welterweight instead of a middleweight.
If you are suppose to be a 147 pound fighter you should not be rehydrating to 165 pounds..., Correct????
This tells me that Fighters are not just replenishing water but actually gaining weight.
At Welterweight Floyd fights at a Physical Disadvantage every fight, because he is coming in at the welterweight limit and other fighters are coming in as Middleweights...! How is that a fair fight and not a adavantage for the other fighter???
I am pretty sure if Floyd wanted to fight middleweights, he would rather fight for a middleweight title rather than a welterweight title. Where he suppose to be fighting 147 pound fighters not 165 pounds Fighters posing as 147 pound fighters....
i really want to hear what you have to say about the points i made in this post
