Wow, and I thought the american Heavyweight scene was a disgrace.
For those of you who want to claim that it is David Haye it should go without mentioning that until he beats the level of heavyweight competition that Rogan has beaten he cannot be considered the best in his own country.
does anyone really believe rogan could beat haye?!!! seriosly?!!
i mean full credit to rogan for beating fraudley & 42yo skelton but hayes a different class of fighter!
Rogan is a folk hero and is all heat but in reality he is just not in the League of a David Haye, he wouldnt last 3 rounds
I love the way Britain tries to make out as if the quality of boxing is as good as ours yet someone with just 12, yes 12 fights, is now the Commonwealth (British Empire) heavyweight title holder. Damn the British boxing scene is poor, makes me wanna go over there, turn professional, win a couple of fights, challenge for the title and win, then retire.
why dont you then!?

Mate, do you think someone in the limelight would state their alligance to the republicans or loyalists?
So, for arguments sake, lets say Rogan is British, seeing as though he was born and lives in Britain, and holds a British passport
He has clearly publicly made a point of showing he considers himself Irish. And what makes you think he has a British passport? The vast majority of west Belfast (where Rogan is from) will have Irish passports. And it is just as easy and also cheaper to get an Irish passport rather than a British passport in the north

Sorry people had to step in here. Rogan is British, he is from Belfast which is the capital of Northern Irleland, which is in Britain. Im sure you've heard all about the troubles over in Irealnd.
To think that Rogan is a better Heavyweight boxer than Haye is naive beyond all belief. Rogan has just won the Commonwealth belt, Haye is in a totally different league to these guys - could see Haye stopping Rogan within a couple of rounds.
We'll never know though because the fight will never happen - would you like to give me a good reason as to why Haye would be the challenger for a commonwealth belt when he has world champs on his radar?
No Northern Ireland isn't part of Britain although it is part of the UK. In the north of Ireland it should be up to the individual person whether they want to be Irish or British and Rogan is Irish so just leave it at that..
Actually yes he is my man. Along with Calderon, Trinidad, Quintana etc etc...
I laid claim to all Puerto Ricans as Americans a few weeks ago and it really bolsters our boxing lineup.
My cell phone plan says "umlimited calling to all 50 states AND Puerto Rico"
What else is there to say?
I lay claim to America, Canada, and Australia on behalf of Britain.
The empire has some of the greatest fighters in the world.

I like your logic, we are by far the most dominant force in boxing now:boxing:
Not really. It's always been a bit messy, Irish citizens are considered as 'commonwealth' for purposes of joining the British armed forces, as well.
Yeah, but I mean from the Irish side. Fighting for a title that takes its name from something that is despised in your country seems a bit strange to me.
Puerto Rico is an American territory. Is Miguel Cotto american?

I find the case of Rogan quite interesting. He was fighting for the commonwealth title, but its obvious he considers himself Irish...abit contentious considering the History between Britian and Ireland.

No, but Northern Ireland is no more a 'territory' than Puerto Rico is. The full name of the nation state is 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.
