Would Diaz have gotten stopped without the cut?

The cut was in the eighth round anyway and since round 6, Marquez has been countering beautifully. Diaz would still have been stopped regardless.

eh, I thought it was the uppercuts that were doing the most damage, and they were setting up Marquezs right hands too. so I dont think the cut madea huge difference. a damn shame, because Diaz was doing fantastic at points in the fight. He really had the tools to win, if he changed up his style a little. hell, he was having a pretty good round before the knockout. all the same, I was pretty surprised how much damage Diaz was doing to Marquez. more than I expected.

Diaz did bring up how he could not see and punches you do not see comming always effect you the worst. He was getting stung a lot over the last couple rounds of the fight though. I am sure it did not help but I think JMM would have got him with or without the cut. It would have taken a bit longer though I think.
