Who is the best trainer in boxing today? Freddy Roach as we all no was voted best of last year, but if i were a pro i would want floyd sr. in my cornor. he seams hand down the best...
What do you think???
Personally I'd take Naseem Richardson over all these clown with big names.
If you want a good game plan from a trainer who studies your opponent, he is the guy.
I think Roach and Mayweather study their opponents as well. Naseem is an incredible trainer, but don't forget. His 2 most recent victories have been with Hopkins and Mosley- 2 incredible boxers who fought fighters who come STRAIGHT FORWARD. I'd like to see his game plans against boxers who are a little slicker. Still, he is one of the best.
I think a lot of British trainers are underrated. Enzo Calzaghe, and Brendan Ingle are two top British trainers.
they might be underrated but they aint the best
different coaches work well with different fighters, i dont think a guy like Naazim Richardson could have transformed Pacquiao from the crde slugger into this boxer puncher like roach did, nor do i see Roach giving Bernard a good strategy becase chances are Bernard won't listen to him because he doesn' respect Roach like he respects someone like sa Naazim Richardson.
that being said a good trainer can adjust to his boxers style and improve it, in my opinion the top trainers are:
Roach
Floyd sr
Ronnie Shields
Tommy Brooks
Nacho Beristein
Naazim Richardson
I'd say it is all relative to the fighter and what they need to work on. Roger Mayweather is great especially for defense. Roach is great for offense and boxing, Mayweather Sr. is have great all around. Bouie Fisher was great for Hopkins. Richardson is a damn good trainer. Steward has fell off a bit. But I think every fighter needs a certain type of personality to help them specifically.
Personally I'd take Naseem Richardson over all these clown with big names.
