Clottey beats Cotto...BAD!

what i wanna know is what's gonna happen when cotto's best shots don't slow down clottey???

I believe it would be a very intruiging fight if you ask me. Two guys that will fight toe to toe and for the belts makes for a classic! I can't call the winner because it could go either way.

cotto beats clottey in a wide ud....... i have a question...... y in hell is clottey so overrated? yea hes good...... really good, but it seems like on these forums, clottey is beloved for nothing....... who has he beat that makes him this big threat? U have a group of good posters that know what they are talking about and can analyze things, these guys guys are the ones u can hold a conversation with. Then u have the trolls, who for whatever reason(fanatism, hate, etc) tend to overhype, overrate and simply act retarded. These are the guys that simply based on whatever little they've seen of a fighter and whatever they've heard they think (boxer) is invincible and perfect. you have the Floyd nuthuggers, the margaretards, the cotto nuthuggers and the williams', etc. Then u have the people that just because for whatever unknown reason they hate on (boxer) so much that in a prime example really believed Jennings had a chance to beat Cotto. There's been a wave in this month that has raised plainly retarded posters. Now back to the question at hand regarding Clottey, he is good but there is very little to stipulate that he is great, yet some people will tell u he is a BEAST just because they think that way. Like someone answered u: "he has not gotten the chance to prove it". But somehow he already knows.... These trolls need to be ignored and let them tire themselves out so they can piss off

he hasn't had the opportunity homie....just wait and see how many people agree with me when or if the fight gets signed......its logical to look at a fighters resume but its stupid to over look his attributes! Right, he hasn't had the opportunity. But that doesn't change the fact that he hasn't done shit in his career. He lives off of 5 good rounds against Margarito. I think Clottey has all the ability in the world, I do. And while it's not his fault that he's been avoided, that doesn't change the fact that he hasn't really done anything. And until he does, he's nothing but a good fighter that we think has the potential to be great, but hasn't proved it yet. Whether people avoided him or not is irrelevant to that.

If I were Cotto, I would try to avoid Clottey for as long as I can. Cotto beats Berto, but doesn't stand a chance against Clottey. *Imagines Clottey calling Cotto a "poooosseh" with my best Ghanaian accent*

Clottey isnt some kind of consistent pressure cooker who will throw a 100 punches a round, and if he does it will be for four rounds before he quits. Clottey will spend a lot of time hanging out behind his guard, during that time Cotto will be on the offense as usual. When Clottey opens up I am sure that will change but that doesnt mean Cotto will be fighting on the back foot all night. Clottey isnt Margarito. he's better!........I agree that Clottey isn't the 100 punch per round dude but I am sure he will back Cotto up all night......Cotto doesn't know how to circle a fighter like a pure boxer, because he's no pure boxer......Cotto will back into the ropes and Clottey will punish him :boxing: Clottey is the HUNGRIER fighter and it will show!

When they say Clottey is High risk/Low reward....it really is true. The man's hard to break...infact, he's never been broken...Cotto has. Also, Clottey is ****ING durable, even under pressure. Thats a VERY popular misconception. Cotto has been beaten down, once, but he has never given in simply because a fight was a challenge to him. Clottey gave up against Baldomir in a fight he was winning, and gave up against Margarito in a fight he was winning. Sure, Clottey hasnt been put down under a barrage of punches, but that may have to do with the fact that he surrendered beforehand. Cotto has hung in in many tough fights and has overcome adversity in the ring. I think the mental toughness easily goes to Cotto in this fight.

I've seen many posts showcasing Cotto as the big bad demon when compared to Berto. I think it's a bit unfair, but i can let it go since i like both fighters. But i haven't heard that much deliberations on a possible Clottey-Cotto (C-C) bout. I believe that's because...deep down, many know it can go either. Infact, a lot a people are scared to this...but it's likely Clottey would take Cotto to the cleaners. A fight w/ Clottey can possibly end Cotto's career...that is, if he loses. I think in a past thread ppl were discrediting Clottey a bit just to fuk with some dilusional poster and have fun. Anyone who knows boxing knows Clottey is a harder fight than Berto. I still think Clottey is afraid to get hit and stays a bit too long in that turtle deffense he goes to. With his hands very high in that deffense and allowing Cotto to work is not a good idea but that's his style, based on his and Cotto's, I take Cotto by UD.

Cotto looks like a beast against the smaller welters.....Judah, Jennings, Quintana, and Gomez.....but against the bigger welters like Mosley and Tony, he fought off the back foot......Shane was confused and couldn't adjust to Cotto "the boxer"........he prepared for Cotto the "the bull", Shane went in there expecting a war and got outboxed in the process.....Tony might've cheated but Cotto gave up the middle of the ring from the opening bell......he went straight to the back foot! with that said, Clottey is considered a big welter......Cotto won't break Clottey's will just like he couldn't break Mosley's or Marg's.....the big welters! If Cotto can keep moving around for 12, I think he boxes to a nice clear UD. If he loses his legs he loses the fight, imo. In any case it should be a great fight. Really hopin' this one gets made. :fingersx:
