I know people say some stupid shit (I'm a member of BoxingScene forums, FFS!), but anyway...

I don't have the Pavlik-Taylor fight on my PC and I can't be bothered looking for it. But like I was saying, it's been suggested that Pavlik was hit with an elbow at some point.
To be honest... who cares. I don't see Taylor stopping Froch anyway.

How much truth is there in it when people said Taylor actually hit Pavlik with an elbow?

Taylor is more likely to get stopped than Froch.
But yes, it is feasible that Froch's confidence in his chin allows him to get hit with shots that he doesn't see coming and whose cumulative effect eventually stop him. Taylor's power isn't great but it's good enough to do damage over the course of a fight, especially if Carl walks into punch after punch - I don't care how good his chin is.
Froch just stood there looking stunned a few of the times Pascal windmilled him; Taylor doesn't have a fantastic KO rating but he's not slapping in there either. Ask Pavlik; Taylor was one big shot from a 2nd round TKO, while BHOP pounded on Kelly for 12 rounds and was nowhere near stopping him.

Is there any feasible way you can possibly see Taylor stopping Froch?
Nah. I don't see it. Froch is much more likely to stop Taylor. I got points on Froch winning, too. As much as dislike loudmouth Froch, he is a tough SOB.

Yes it's very feasible that Taylor actually punches Froch... Imagine that??
 It's a Boxing match in case you didn't notice..
WOW
IN HIS AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL CAREER HE HAS NEVER BEEN PUT ON HIS ASS. Thats not a bad stat.
That's not a bad start but it doesn't mean someone is invincible.
Taylor had never been down either, until he got KO'd by Pavlik.
There's a first time for everything, and the top of 168 is a different game than the rest of Froch's amateur or professional resume.
WOW
what a turn around i swear like 5 weeks ago everyone was bashing froch saying hes no match for taylor. I too thought froch will win. Pascal maynot be the best techincally gifted boxer but he has a sweet chin and alot of power and froch took everything with ease.

Exactly right.
The only possible way Taylor gets a stoppage is by boxing smartly. If he does that, he is almost guaranteed to win a moderately wide decision and depending on how many punches Carl blocks with his face, we could feasibly see a late round stoppage. Again, not likely, but possible.
I agree 100%.
Good post. Taylor's not even going to try and stop Froch--that would be stupid. He'll look to do what he did in the second Pavlik fight, zip in and zip out with combinations.

For sure. Froch has a pretty solid chin as he showed in the Jean Pascal fight. However, I feel that Taylor is mucht the better boxer and if he boxes sensibly he should win by UD.
Very possible. JT would have to box pretty flawlessly for 12 rounds though and we know that aint a certainty with him. Hes always capable of folding

No, i can't see Talyor stopping Froch.
Froch has a very good chin, and Talyor isn't the strongest puncher out there. Talyor would win this fight out-boxing Froch to a UD.
If anyone is likely to get stopped in this fight, it's Talyor.
