He will be lucky to reach half of Casamayor resume... He has significant defensive shortcomings and once he faces a world class fighter he will get KO'ed.
Simple: He is getting hyped by everyone in the boxing world as the next "great" thing in boxing yet he is getting floored by sub-par competition and he continues to fight sub-par competition such as last night. If you ask me, he's going backwards. He's had a couple of nice wins, but last night's opponent was a step in the wrong direction. Last night showed us nothing in terms of what he might've improved upon from his fight before.
I bet your problably from Puerto Rico or Rep.Dominicana or something, they hate us cause we always make you guys are little b*tches
Like Fidel made you all his bitches.
Yeah, you guys are the kings of Hialeah.

When you go down reguarly against mid level opposition, you have a weak chin. It doesn't matter if it is as bad as Khans or as bad as Gamboas. When you get hit by a huge puncher, you are not getting back up. Lets hope Gamboa can improve his defence eh.
That's not true, DLH got knocked down multiple times early in his career and he is known to have or known to have had one of the best chins in the sport, Pavlik got knocked down more than once early in his career and his chin is solid. Gamboa has only had 1 genuine knockdown really, the Gonzalez knockdown, the Jimenez knockdown could have been a balance issue but we can't be sure because we never saw the positioning of his feet, the De Jesus knockdown was more of a push, and the Ramirez knockdown was caused by an elbow so just because he's touching the canvas doesn't mean he has a bad chin.
There's no doubt that he needs better defense though, even if it's not fundamental and I'm not saying he would be able to take a flush shot against a big puncher but his chin isn't weak to me.
Khan had been hurt multiple times before his fight with Prescott, like in the Limond and Gomez fights.
Gamboa does not have a glass chin like Kahn, he gets knocked down but he's never hurt.
and knocks them down right after just to look better and prove he was not hurt
We said that about Khan until a huge puncher like Presscott came along.
Huge puncher I guess you weren't watching Friday night fights, some guy named Humberto Soto oulasted Kahn by about 9 rounds.
Gamboa has never been hurt as bad as Khan was against Limond.

The people who hype up Gamboa, are the same people who deride Khan. They are one of the same. Both are hugely talented, but both have poor defences, and weak chins. If Gamboa can't improve his defence he will get KO'd.

That's about as big a defect as anyone can have.

I don't call him a hypejob, but he's certainly got a lot of question marks right now in my book. When you look at his record, it leaves something to be desired in terms of any live bodies, he's been dropped 4 times by guys with less than stellar punching power, and he leaves himself wide open in exchanges.
That said, he's entertaining to watch.
