i voted no assuming it was a boxing match but in a street fight or mma match bas would destroy any boxer! so i agree! boxers,thai boxers,kickboxers etc are effective on their feet but a well rounded fighter like bas would simply take them down and pound them out or choke them or snap one of their limbs! but on the other hand in a boxing match bas would struggle against most half-descent boxers! exactly.. good post, green sent

Bas wasnt even an all around fighter. He was a stand up fighter who is like a fish out of water when on his back. He even lost to Randelman in UFC. Yes you may argue the judges gave him that fight, but any man with 2 eyes knows Randelman won by controlling 90% of that fight. I love Bas, i think he was one of the best commentaors ever for MMA (hes pretty damn funny) , but he couldnt hang with boxers if he were to box. how many fucking times i gotta say i'm not talking about a BOXING MATCH, i'm talking about a FIGHT! UFC/MMA fans are HILLARIOUS. A street fight has no rules! There is no gloves or timeouts or refs. I'll take a Boxer from the streets like a Tyson,Foreman or B-hop in street fight over some lilly-white suburan kid who took up wrestling in H.S. and can't throw a punch to save his life. Tyson vs say Lesnar in a street fight is a JOKE. Tyson would punch that slow,fat chump into submission and even if he got Tyson to the ground you think Tyson wouldn't bite or punch to the groin? Also the whole "ill poke your eye, bite you and kick you in the balls!" argument is pretty moot. Any well schooled fighter knows to be aware of and how to defend attacks of that nature.

Here is fight science showing him outkicking a Mu Tai Master!!! they should have had Cro Cop kick that thing. in terms of speed though, i dont think anyone comes close to Buakaw's kicks in K-1. one of the most amazing kickboxers i have ever seen fight.

Nope Bas has actually never really knocked anyone out minus some journeyman and a few wrestlers. The best striker he has faced is another kickboxer in Maurice Smith, who he beat but did not knockout. Bas submitted him twice with a kneebar i believe and Maurice was a straight kickboxer who had zero knowledge of submissions. Bas has accomplished very little and you my friend are a fanboy

Whats funny is 9 out of 10 people on this Board have no Idea who Bas Ruten is but hey will still comment how he has no chance against a boxer.

bas rutten is overrated as shit. he beat some journeyman and lost to kevin randleman at UFC 20. If you disagree with that watch the fight and tell me how many shots bas lands and then tell me how mant minutes he spends getting held down and punched. More often than not he was beating on a wrestler who had no hands whatsoever. All the guys he ever knocked out were bums, and TK is basically a journeyman. if you think bas is any good, your probably just watching highlights or you believe whatever you hear. bas has done well as a commentator or whatever but he has not proved shit in the ring
