No problem at all, my man!! Your pops was one of the 1980's best amateur light welterweights in an era when 139 was a DEEEEP class (John Meekins, Jerry Page, Henry Hughes, etc etc...even Meldrick Taylor fought there for a whle before going back down to 125 for the Olympics)...all respect to him...

yea, Mark got shook up there a bit...but, you know, for what its worth, Mark was still a 147 pound amateur at that time...while Tommy was at his absolute peak (close to the time he KO'd Duran) as a 154 pound world champion...

That was a wicked right hand .

Amateur boxing -with the implementation of computer scoring and four two minute rounds, has STOPPED being a solid breeding ground for professinals... it is something barely resembling boxing now....amateur boxing in the 1970's and 1980's was something similar to pro boxing...you could see some GREAT fights but now under the new rules the most accomplished amateurs are guys who very easily wouldnt even make a dent in the pro game...if you look at a national tournament line up dont always look to the gold medalists as future champs...look at a tough kid who got outboxed on the ridiculous scoring earlier on..a kid who doesnt want to play tag
Another bump up for you posters who havent been able to check these out!
