I've been hearing this a lot from some of the Limeys.
The man is only 30 though and looking at his resume, there is no reason why he should be past it. He hasn't really stepped up his oposition until recently (like 2005). I've know of fighters who have fought the same level of opposition that he has if not better that have fought on until their 33-35 withouth showing much aging.
Why is it that (you) believe he is shot? Is it because of his one loss?
Lemme know...
I just don't see it...
This is sooooo weird. What made you guys think this, was it the fact that he lost to a P4P (and maybe alltime great) fighter?
Or that he's a brawler?
.... Or do you simply just hate him?
I think that Hatton is a good (excellent) fighter with great handspeed. Hatton looks sloppy sometimes when he brawls, but he is no slouch. C'mon he lost to Mayweather, so has everyone else that has faced him.
Everyone is saying that Pacman will crush him, but he has fewer losses than Pacman and he will be the hardest puncher that Pacquiao has ever faced.
well said , he was a real breath of fresh air for hatton fans that night. He was real sharp, threw real accurate shots and used great movement and footwork all night long. For a guy to improve that much under a new trainer in only one training camp shows that he is still in it mentally and physically. Not to mention his conditioning was top notch. Hatton is preparing for a war against Pac and I expect him to come in looking better then he ever has.
Are you talking about the Malignaggi fight? He was still with Billy Graham for the Lazcano fight.
He's not Shot or past it. that is excuses for Pac haters if Pac beats his ass.
My thoughts exactly.

I think it started with the Lazcano fight, since he did not totally steam roll him. I consider Hatton to be in good shape going into this fight, if he is not at his best he is at no worse then like 95% of his peak ability.

Think that could also have something to do with the higher level of opponents??
Just saying is all..
It could be but I doubt it because he looked pretty bad against Lazcano, Lazcano was not a step up in opposition. His style has changed quite noticeably since the Tszyu fight too.
He looked a lot better against Paulie, but the speed wasn't there like it was in the Tszyu fight. It seemed Hatton lost something after getting knocked out by Mayweather. Mayweather didn't ruin him by any means, but it took the "press this guy till he drops" out of him imo.I guess you could look at it like that. What I saw was a smart Hatton who took his time and was actually thinking, but who knows, maybe that IS a sign of him aging;him not being all jumpy like before. Guess we'll see with Pacman.

Because he's slowing down, it's pretty clear he's slowing down by just watching his performances now compared to his performances a few years ago, he's getting hit way more as well, and the flaws he had or has as a fighter a few years ago are showing up way more than they used to, Mayweather Sr. has worked on some of those flaws but Hatton is still a step or two slower than he used to be.
Hatton is 30 but the constant weight fluctuations are going to catch up with him sooner or later, I think it's been catching up with him lately.

he's on the other side of the mountain going down...not shot or past prime..but not fresh and prime.....Based on what? The few bad rounds he had against Lazcano? If anything Hatton is in his prime right now IMO, he has gained a lot of experience from the PBF fight IMO. People can say Paulie was feather-fisted etc etc, but he was a complete nightmare style for Hatton, and Ricky dominated and broke him.

You think taking punches from an unskilled fighter causes any less punishment than taking punches from a skilled fighter?
Hatton has been blocking punches with his face for over 40 fights. That is a lot of punches.
