Barrios and Soto...what you mean fool!
Not good enough El...
His making no noise at all and with talent like his thats a joke...
Cant remember when i last saw him fight
if guzman has real guts, he will fight funeka. styles makes fight and funeka destroyed slick boxer raheem. I dont know if guzman wants any of that.
Funeka would smash Guzman. The only way to deal with someone like Funeka is with power, and Guzman cant crack an egg.
There is no one that Camacho ever beat the level of Humberto Soto, Jorge Barrios, or Agapito Sanchez. Whats more is Camacho doesn't have half the talent Guzman has and has proven it by losing to guys like Tsurkan and Weis, and bitching his way out of a loss to Leija.
Admittedly Guzman hasnt maximized his talent, but thats nothing new with fighters today.
Its not enough tho, when ur as good as he is anyway, Barrios and Soto are quality but they alone aint enough
But thats not the point, the thread starter claimed when he is he Joan gonna fight some legit fighters, and in my post i say he already fought legit fighters in Soto and Barriors, and statements like that should be left for fighters like Tye Fields.
So even do it probaly is not enough, he has foughts legit fighters.
if you really think that Katsidis or Casamayor has a chance against Guzman, then if and when that fight happens look me up. I am willing to bet you money not points in this one here.
everybody has a chance against anybody on the right night.
the reason i said guzman needs to try and get katsidis or casamayor was because guzman needs names on his resume to get some credibility back. if anything guzman should beat both these guys because katsidis is flawed and casamayor is old. also both will be on the high profile lightweight tournament bout. guzman needs high profile bouts.
if guzman can graduate from those fights, he can target diaz, jmm and valero. Not to say that valero is on par with jmm, but because so many believe that valero is a pac clone, he should save that for last as a tune up for pac. the diaz/jmm winner would be the real prize at 135 since that dude would be recognized as the MAN at 135, but guzman can fight the loser as a tune up for the winner.

To be onest if you had done ya resaerch you would know he had already been fighting legit fighters in Humberto Soto who before he fought Guzman hadn' been beat in 21 staright fights and in those fights had wins over Olympic silver medalist Rocky Juarez, and since the Guzman defeat has went on to win the WBC super featherweight title.
Guzman beat him rather comfortable by scores of 117-111,117-111 and 118-110.
He also holds a good win over former WBO super featherweight Jorge Rodrigo Barrios, who was on a 7 fight win streak, and in the past has beat at the time unbeaten Mike Anchondo, at time another unbeaten Janos Nagy, and was on the seconds defence of his title before Joan beat him in a close fight.
Guzman has also beat at the time current unbeatens Terdsak Jandaeng(18-0),Fernando Beltran Jr(24-0-1) and Fabio Daniel Oliva(18-0-0)
So to say he hasn't been fighting legit fighters is a bit of a insult, as i think that needs to be said about fighters like Tye Fields not Joan Guzman.
Joan Guzman is a very skilled fighter, as he's proved, and would give any of the top names a good fight and even beat some of them, only if he can stay disciplined and keep his weight down.
Its not enough tho, when ur as good as he is anyway, Barrios and Soto are quality but they alone aint enough
Or will he be just like Hector Camacho Jr and blow his record up fighting nobodies?

pac has no reason to fight guzman.

Very True, a couple of wins over that type of oppenent later and with a mouthy well known trainer like Floyd in his team plus a nice pretty "0" on the end of his record and people will be screaming for a Pac fight tho
Or will he be just like Hector Camacho Jr and blow his record up fighting nobodies?
he needs start from the bottom and hopefully someone throws him a bone.
This guy might be the biggest waste of talent in the last 5 to 10 years. He better try to change that before it's too late.
Him and Crazy Rapist President Ike Ibeabuchi :dead1:
He better start RIGHT NOW the guy is Uber Talented, i like him but he has already wasted most of his career, he should have unified MULTI divisions by now, he's been at enough weights damn it and he has all the skill in the world
Pisses me off!
Surge said it for me.....
Feel the exact same way
He has Barrios and Soto on his resume two very good fighters, he really screwed up against Nate though. That could have been his shot at the big time because everyone would have had to fight him because he would have had all the titles if he won. He'd be a huge part of this lightweight tourny
