being at both fights, both times having excellent seats, and rooting for floyd AT THE TIME (before his marketing himself got out of hand), i had castillo wining both fights. the pressure, work rate, and constant body attack, really stood out form floyds laying on the ropes and part time pot shots. floyd was really looking tired during the first fight and although has never tired since their first fight, floyd in my eyes and in the opinions of the people sitting with me and around us, everyone thought castillo won.......... it was the same thing in the rematch..................
both fights can be argued each way, but from a normal fight criteria stand point of what stands out in academics of scoring a fight, castillo did what you'd normally score a fight.................
but....................that wasn't the case was it.
:lol1:
There is no way Castillo won the second one. No way in hell.
i wouldnt go as far as calling it a robbery, but even as a pbf fan i do think he lost this fight. but i havent watched it in long time and would have to rewatch and score it again to be sure.
5 polls. The majority had Castillo winning in all of them:

that doesn't necessarily mean castillo won, it may just mean that people hate floyd.

Estimate please for me the percent of people on this board that really know how to score fight? The majority is not always correct imo~

An actual explanation wow. In the last half of the first fight Floyd definetly looked worse for ware, and if the fight lasted more rounds he would have been in real trouble.
I still feel that Castillo gave away way to many early rounds to get a decision, especially when you consider the subjective nature of judging fights, also people never bring up the points that got deducted so depending on how those rounds got scored it could make a huge difference in the score cards (if they ended up 10-8 9-9 for Floyd that would be way to much for JLC to overcome).
It was a close fight though, just not enough rounds for JLC to pull it out with how he fared in the first 6 rounds (without a knock down).

I have said this before, just because HBO says robbery, the haters say robbery, so people look to give rounds to castillo imo.
Its a topic that has been done to death really.
End of thread.
Pretty much it is over with to me, it is like it always is when talking about this fight. I love that someone told me I was wrong because 60% of this forum thought Floyd lost, that shit is priceless.
I think I will sig that
I think most people who watch this fight nowadays really expect JLC to win the fight, and look for reasons to give him the fight.

yea my dad also tells me about this fight that castillo got robbed
whats the punch stats?????/
Punch stats are meaningless when judging a fight imo. To really judge a fight you have to act like a judge that means not extra knowlege other then what you see in the ring.
I believe JLC had a punchstat advantage though to answer your question, though that was mostly done over the final 6 rounds.
I think most people who watch this fight nowadays really expect JLC to win the fight, and look for reasons to give him the fight. If you judge a fight with preconcieved ideas about a fight your score will never be accurate or valid.
Nope.
Floyd landed the cleaner shots from what i remember, even late on in the fight I think he was landing some big shots. Gambler can you confirm that?
Where are these clean effective punches castillo was landing on floyd?
Floyd was landing good shots throughout the fight. It was a great give and take fight really.
Because Castillo controlled the fight. His aggression was more effective and he roughed Floyd up a lot on the inside, whereas Floyd was continually backing up, often throwing ineffective punches to the body. Castillo made Floyd fight the wrong fight that night, which is why I think Floyd lost.

He did not pick up the pace until round 6. After round 6 your right JLC came on hard, but he still did not sweep the last 6 rounds, When you take into account point deduction winning to me is impossible for JLC. If the fight was 15 round Floyd would have lost most likely, but being a 12 round fight that is scored round by round Floyd did enough early to really control the scorecards going into the final rounds~.
I think you could make a case for rounds 5 and 11 for Castillo, which would make it 114-112 for Castillo. At the same time, you can make a case for Floyd just as well. This fight was no robbery.
I do think Floyd beat him pretty damn well in the rematch. I had it 117-111. 115-113 is beyond me for that fight.
It is easy to say JLC won, but to explain why you actually think so is much harder, and not a single mother ****er has done that.
Im still waiting.
I wont even go into the 116-112 to castillo scores, using modern methods of mathematics and addition, im not sure how that score is possible.
You don't seem to be able to understand ther people's opinions very well. Just because you've watched more boxing, it does not mean somebody else is wrong if they have a different opinion. A bit ironic that in your sig you have the quote "Free speech is not for the views that you hold dear but for the views that you hate"
They can say whatever they want to say, I can say they are wrong also. I hate ignorence, and not looking at a situation logically, I have yet to see someone really explain why JLC won.

It was a close fight, but to me if you give away 5 of the first 6 rounds winning a decision is almost impossibe (when you take into account the subjective nature of judging fights).
What a piece of trash perspective... lets just assume I know more then everyone... its much easier that way... :ugh:
Why even waste my time.
It must suck to not have belief in ones own point of view. Some people know more and some people know less in this world, it is best to know which one you are I guess though. Facts of life~
I am a gambler, dude? I bet on boxing as opposed to other sports because I feel I know it better. I remember as an adolecent watching Tuesday night fights on the USA network (and whenever else I could watch boxing). So should I repect my opinion or other peoples who have not seen as much boxing as I?
Why should I conform to a viewpoint that I view as wrong. The majority is not always right btw, do I need to explain this point?
Now since you watched the fight 5 or 6 times, give me a good explanation of why JLC won, Mayweather not doing enough is not adequet. What 7 rounds did JLC win, and make sure to not forget the 2 point deductions.
