But almost isnt it so whatever. I was a little dissapointed in Martinez's performance. He was having some trouble with Cintron's quick counterpunching. But as the fight progressed, he started finding his rhythm and confidence and began letting go a bit more showing some of that flash and boxing ability he displayed against Bunema.
I think this performance was good enough for the nay sayers who felt Cintron was going to destroy Martinez to give credit for Sergio. He showed more than glimpses of his abilities in this fight.
Overall, I rate his preformance a 7. The fight wasn't close, but it wasn't pretty.
i started watching the fight late but i saw enuff to see cintron was getting whooped . cintron got caught with a huge punch, so huge he thought it was a head butt . he barely got up in time but his opponent had way more stamina in the end and shouldve got the win unless kermit won the earlier rounds which i didnt see
One of the reasons I said "almost KO'd" was because of the extra time Cintron got from all the confusion. he got about a 3 minute break after the bell rung clearly giving him enough time to clear the cobwebbs out his domepiece. Of course, we don'nt know EXACTLY what would had happen if the fight would have resumed after 60 seconds, but as my experience as a boxing fan and being knocked down in sparring, in street fights, its hard to be clear of mind after 60 seconds.
theref called off the fight.... cintrons complaining shouldnt be ab;e to change that.... he went don on a clean punc, he did not make the count, and then he cried about, and got 2.5 mins to recover......... robbery
and then had the nerve to complain when he got a gift draw. Bitch move.
Yeah, I think he just used it as an excuse because he knew he was hurt.
He pretty much pulled a Judah.
Haha, it was worse then Judah though, Judah got the loss he deserved kermit the quitter cintron got a draw. Cintron fans should be ashamed of this dude, that shitt was pitiful.
Thats not what I saw. When he was walking backward, he had glassy eyes and the million mile stair. He took a knee because he was out of it, not because he was headbutted. He got hurt and him going "AHH!" when Martinez popped him also confirms it. He didn't see it coming.

I think everyone missed the fact that Cintron took a knee because he thought he got butted, he wasnt almost KOd, he was fully aware and was talking to the ref. Other than that I agree with your assesment of Martinez.

cintron lost this one man, judjes were on crack,,
I don't think he was almost KO'd but Kermit was an idiot for staying down so long. I think he got up and the ref made a mistake by seemingly calling it an causing such chaos.
Bottom line is that this wasn't the great performance Martinez wanted, but he did do enough to earn respect IMO and was dicked over.
I was hoping he wouldn't disgrace the good name of Maravilla.
After all, that is what I go by. :D He did not disappoint therefor has my blessing..
you can continue to use it Sergio!

Definitely a fair assessment. I'd agree with it. It took Martinez a few rounds to get into a rhythm, it was clear he respected Cintron's power and was cautious in the beginning. He looked pretty good though, and he definitely didn't do himself a disservice with his performance.
