I had it 8-4 for Funeka. Theres no way Nate Campbell won more than 5 rounds imo. 2 of those rounds were the knockdown rounds and 3 other ones are pick em. Even the rounds Nate won, those were not clear cut wins. Anyways just because you knock a guy down dosent mean you should win the fight.

Someone should post a thread on this fight

Thats how I had it, Funeka should deserve the win
I felt like Funeka did enough to win but thats the way it goes these days in boxing....the bigger name wins those type of fights......the guy who can generate the most interest and money will get the benefit of doubt in any close fight!
fight was close, 113-113.
for those of you acknowledging your scorecards and accepting others as possible, good on you.
for those who dont accept other possibilites for the guy you picked to win (or lose), you're wasting your breath. fight was too close for your arrogance to become law.
no way. He tried to just brawl all night from frustration. Ineffective aggression that lead to getting busted up.
Umm, thats the definition of doing the best you can and getting an asswhooping.
He was out thrown, outlanded, out thought, out fought, out speeded, out punched. He was beaten in every way you can be beaten, and it wasn't for lack of skill or effort, or conditioning, or being sick.
Nate Campbell straight up beat the brakes off Juan Diaz. You are gonna have to learn to live with that because he will do it again if they ever rematch.
I had it a draw. Ali Funeka should get mad props for coming to America to face a world champion that had a weight advantage. It was a good close fight and it was no where near a robbery. If you want to see a robbery look at the Cintron fight. Martinez could have did more by punching more than sticking his chin out but he clearly won the fight. I had the over 9.5 rounds so I was happy that I got that clear KO error. Look at Cintrons face, the ref clearly taking a point away for something minor to nothing in the last round of all rounds. Cintron bitching like he was suppose to get all the calls. Puerto Rico has had and has alot of great boxers and warriors sorry to tell you Kermit Cintron is not one of them. Martinez clearly won that fight.
I'll Co-Sign this. Especially this part.
Juan Diaz didn't have an off night. He fought the best fight he could and still got the beating off his life.

Campbell edged it out. He got the 2 knockdowns and was able to land a little more, Funeka was more active, but didn't land as much as Nate (I was there live as well). The Cintron decision was a trillion times worse.
LOL @ people leaving the Arena during 6th round. People were chanting "Let's go Panthers, Let's Go!!" LOL
Highlight of the night IMO was the KO by the Puerto Rican Cruserweight (can't recall his name) that was on one of the undercards. Kinda a shitty card.
lmaooo great sig! haha
8-4=116-112. Take away 2 points from knockdowns=114-112. Not a draw.
Nate Campbell isnt a lightweight. This fight cant happen because of his inability to make weight. Juan Diaz has nothing to be ashamed of. Campbell is a tough guy, he had an off night and loss, no big deal. That loss has lead to him a new promotional contract and millions of dollars to be made. For Nate Campbell, he declared Bankruptcy and just lost all of his belts. His career as a possible big name fighter is over.

You just disagree with it because Campbell beat the bollocks out of Diaz.
Anyway, I also felt that Campbell just pulled it out. As in every fight in which there is a lot of body punching, and very good body punching, most of it goes completely ignored. Campbell did some really solid body punching throughout the fight and took some rounds, apart from the obvious ones, because of it.
I thought he just scraped it out. One thing I was quite surprised at though was Campbell's lack of conditioning. He is usually in really top shape and can go for the full twelve damn hard. It seemed as though maybe the weight took it out of him or maybe his camp didn't go as good as it could have. I don't know, but Funeka landed some solid body shots of his own which could have contributed to it.
Anyway, I think Funeka has a very good future ahead of him. It was probably a little too early to go up against someone as seasoned as Nate, who is also fighting as good as he ever has, but he will be champion at lightweight in the future and may stay that way for some time. Anyone that is six foot one and can box, but also has very good power, would be a big handful for any lightweight. He's got a bright future ahead for himself.
I was about to post the same thing. It seems that everyone that feels this fight was a robbery is bitter about Nate beating the brakes off of Juan Diaz.
In case you didn't know 8-4 with two knockdowns is a draw. Funeka won a lot of rounds, but he was dropped twice and it was a close fight that could've gone either way. It should have been a draw but Nate winning the fight is in no way a robbery.

It's funny the one who are insisting that Funeka won here are Mexicans. That's why Mexicans are getting bad Karma because of this stupid fans who disses every fighters like Williams, Pacquiao, Mosley, Darchinyan and Campbell who destroyed all the Mexicans
Just because Juan Diaz got exposed by an old man, they turned their hate on Campbell. They should pray that Diaz could avenge his loss, not continuing his career with a humiliation loss against Campbell.
